Friendly guides make it fun, sharing stories of local culture and history, while you sample some of the best food in town. On all of our tours, we make 6-7 stops featuring casual eateries, higher end restaurants, a food cart, an educational stop, and a dessert location that reflect the way we eat in Portland. On tour, you may sample local craft beer, seasonal small plates, cocktails, tiny artisan cookies, micro-batch coffee, food cart goodness, and more, made with the ingredients & creativity that Oregon is famous for. You'll get the stories behind the tastes with your expert culinary guide. We offer tours in three of the city's greatest neighborhoods! Alphabet District Tour: Friday afternoons. Mississippi Ave Tour: Thursday, Saturday & Sunday afternoons. Downtown & The Pearl District Tour, Wednesday afternoons. Downtown and the Farmer's Market Tour, Saturday afternoons. For my birthday we went to Portland, and one of the best things we did was The Forktown Alphabet Tour. They were very accommodating, and the guide was awesome! She was very knowledgeable. When I asked for some good breweries, she called other guides and got recommendations from them. The food on the tour was very delicious! We tried some... More

Visiting Portland for the first time, I booked the Mississippi Ave. tour for a birthday surprise for my husband. We had the best time... Heidi was "THE BEST" informative, fun, full of energy! Warning... you will eat a lot. Each food stop was yummy and unique. I can't wait to book their other tours.

Only having 36 hours in Portland presented a challenge to me and my husband as we wanted to see, do, and taste as much as possible in that time. The Mississippi Ave tour was a perfect way to spend our Sunday afternoon. We had a great group and Marissa was a wealth of knowledge and so pleasant to listen to!... More

I grew up in Portland and was home on vacation when I did the tour with Forktown. I chose to do the route on Mississippi Ave since it has really exploded in just the past years and I knew very little about the area but always read amazing things about its restaurant scene. The 7 spots we visited well represented... More

Two friends and I visited Portland and we did the Alphabet DIstrict tour. We started off eating Fried Chicken on a savoury waffle with maple syrup, and the food fog began. We visited a bagel shop, wine bar, distillery, and ended up in a bakery - there were 7 stops, I cant recall all of them but they were all... More

This was a very good tour with lots of interesting food, both restaurants, and food trucks. Very accomomodating of food allergies and preferences. This tour took us to a neighborhood that we might not have explored on our own. The guide was great and the other folks fun. I could have used a bit more information about the area and... More

Great way to experience the food scene in Portland. We had a group of 5, ranging in age from 11 to 77. All ages loved it! Our fav was the Thai food.

10 gold stars is closer to how AMAZING Forktown's food touring experience is. Truly a MUST DO experience. I'm local and just finished the alphabet district food tour and wow wow wow, am I going to be returning to the restaurants and beer, wine and spirit purveyors with my friends ASAP! What great discoveries. My group is unanimous that our... More

Very diverse foods. And a lot of it. We started out with Thai food. Then we got interesting Italian via food truck. My favorite stop was the Big Little Burger. Easily in the top 5 burgers I've ever had in my life. Additionally the fries were top notch. I had a really great lemonade at Sidecar 11. The color of... More

We had taken the "Bite of Seattle" food tour a couple years ago in Seattle and loved it. When our relatives from Indiana came out for a vacation/visit, we thought we would try a food tour in Portland. We took the Wednesday downtown/Pearl district tour with Kelsey and had a great time. The food was fabulous, and there were excellent... More
