I have gone to two plays here and the seats are all good. It is small and has a diverse assortment of shows. Small theatre with great productions.

This building affects your psyche. You truly feel content and at rest when entering. Regardless if what drew you there. Great theatre feels state of the art and yet ancient at the same time. great walking views and easy parking.

Delightful place, it once was the Armory for Portland, so it is a stout brick and motor building that looks a bit like a castle. The inside lobby is delightful, nifty old window, exposed bricks, tall ceiling that accommodates a delight full balcony second floor, sort of a 1930 brick, modern decor mix that is perfect. The theatre is large... More

A beautiful theater hosting theater productions and music concerts. The sound and seating is great. Strongly recommend taking in a play or concert at this venue.

This is by-far is the most consistent in providing quality acting for each performance. Season is a mixture of classical plays and premieres. For last minute plans, rush tickets are available for twenty dollars before every performance.

First time to this wonderful venue - it doesn't look like much from the outside but upon entering, so warm and inviting! Exposed red brick walls , hip space offering honor system for water and coffee and a serviced bar for a little something more including sandwiches and candy. The actual size of the theatre was about equal to a... More

We attended twist your Dickens for our annual family theater outing, and had a blast. As usual, we had dinner beforehand (see review for Mediterranean Exploration Company), and then went to the Gerding. This is the second time we've seen this show, and loved it again. Although the structure was similar from one show to the next, the improv elements... More

The Gerding Theater is located in the heart of the trendy Pearl District, and offers a wide range of live theater in two venues. Major productions in the main theater include musicals, dramas, and comedy. Smaller productions are shown in the smaller basement theatre, and may include one to three actors in a play. We have had season tickets for... More

All the seats are great. No bad ones Acoustics are excellent. An intimate theater. Parking in this area is poor. Excellent restaurant/brewery right across the seat. This armory was remodeled at a theater a few years ago and they did a really outstanding job.
