We're had a couple spare hours and decided on a zoo activity. A chance to witness bat feeding time is not to be missed. The creatures are fascinating and fun to watch for all ages. Educational too!

We visited the zoo on our last day in Portland, and were there for a weekday special of buy one get one free admission after 2 p.m. This was a huge savings...We LOVED seeing the animal exhibits. This is a very well kept zoo and the staff were very friendly. There was a concert that evening so some of the... More

Our visit was wonderful, however we were with a 1-yr old so we did not see the entire zoo. It was amazing to see bald eagles and condors so close up! Yes, there are other zoos that maybe have a better lay-out, but we had no complaints. There is a new elephant area that is under construction and looks like... More

Relaxed and fun to sit on the grass and listen to music. Get tickets early and take the Max to the venue about 30 min before gates open for general admin.

Obviously these other folks have not been to other zoo's... The staff was extremely rude! The one lady gave us a extremely hard time about taking my sons' service dog into the zoo with him even though we had paper work stating that he was a service dog and was to be left in with him! Does any one else... More

Great displays, beautiful setting. Frequent events. Worth a membership to visit often. Nice variety of animals on display and interactive activities for the kids.

Entrance prices were very reasonable compared to other zoos which is a perk. The zoo was well maintained (even with construction areas for the new enclosures). This zoo was very nice and family friendly and I would go back again. Looking forward to the new elephant enclosure.

We unknowingly chose a rainy day to visit the zoo. But with a nice variety of indoor exhibits it didn't put too much of a damper on our day. The zoo is an easy train ride from the city. It was a cool day so many of the animals were out. There are lots of interactive things for the kids... More

I was hesitant at visiting the Zoo especially after being to San Diego's Aquarium last year but the Portland Zoo is amazing. The variety of animals is huge and they all looked very happy and healthy. You can see and feel the effort put into each area and it shows in the demeanor of the animals. Absolutely worth a visit.... More
