If you find yourself in Portland area and have nothing planned a short drive from downtown Portland on highway 26 will get you to the Oregon Zoo which will provide hours of entertainment for the whole family. This is not a large zoo, live San Diego, but has many great exhibits and allows you to see most animals in a... More

The Portland Zoo is a nice day trip. I would recommend taking the train from Washington park to the zoo - it is a bumpy, but pretty cool ride. Don't miss the elephants or the giraffe platform. They have really done a nice job with the lay out and makes it easy to get around.

It is an annual tradition for our family to visit Zoolights. We love the Oregon Zoo and the Zoolights attraction. The Zoo is a beautiful place and we never get tired of visiting. We are Zoo Members and it is well worth it. Highly recommend a visit.

Getting to the zoo couldn't be easier, just jump on the MAX and jump off at the ZOO. The zoo is well maintained, in a beautiful location, has very nice exhibits, and the staff there is so friendly and helpful. It is a great place to take your kids or grand kids for the day.

Love this place! Lots to do and fun for the whole family. Buy the membership if you are a local. Stay the day, do all the stuff in 1 day if you can. But I was suggest multiple trips to take in every section, lots of fun and a great experience for all ages.

The zoo was very well maintained. It was nice especially because of the weather. We just ambled along the trails watching every animal and taking a closer look in case the animals are out and active.

This is one of the better zoos I've been to. The keepers and citizens truly care about their animals. Once I woke up to see the new baby elephant on the front page of the state news paper and again for her mothers birthday one year. The animals are treated fairly and it really is a locals place. Our family... More

Had no idea that this Zoo put on a special at night during the Christmas & New Year's holidays. What a nice surprise! We ended up going the night before the whole thing ended and talk about crowded! It really helps if you are a member of the Zoo. As a member you do not have to stand in the... More

I must admit, I don't love going to zoos, yet, this is walking distance from my house and when it is not overly crowded, it is fun to visit. Even great for outdoor concerts in summer months. The surrounding area has trails for hiking and running and taking the MAX there is so convenient. I take the MAX from the... More
