This zoo was a little depressing. It's one of the old style (think cement cages) that's been transformed to the more modern style. In many areas you weren't able to see the animals and the atmosphere was one of lethargy instead of energy. They have made improvements on it but it still has a long way to go. more

We spent a few hours at the Oregon Zoo. We had a two-year-old with us that kept us going at a speedy pace, otherwise we could've spent even more time here. This is a nice attraction for kids and adults to see while in Portland. The zoo has a good variety of animals and enclosures are not too bad. The zoo is easy to navigate also. The Oregon Zoo is one of the nicer zoos I have visited. It is fairly compact, so you don't have to walk miles and miles to see everything.
