Not only is the zoo a wonderful place to spend a couple of hours, but it's right smack dab in the middle of Portland's most beautiful nature area - Washington Park, World Forestry Center, and the Children's Museum. You can take the MAX to the zoo from downtown which drops you off in the awesome underground MAX station, then head... More

I went to the Oregon Zoo for the first time recently, and had a very pleasant experience. They're in the midst of a massive remodel, so a large chunk of the zoo is either off-limits or unfinished, but you could see the potential in what they're doing. I think that when the zoo is finished, it will definitely be hitting... More

We normally go to the woodland park zoo, but we were in Portland so thought why not! it was definitely worth the admission price, but overall the zoo is not super exciting. I don't really know how to say it other than my 9 year old son said "this zoo is not as fun as the other one". Try and... More

The Zoo is expanding, so the Elephants will have a much nicer habitat. They have a baby elephant to see. Their is also baby lion cubs and teenagers with 2 males and 7 females. It is nice to see them laying out in the sun. For me they are the best sights at the Zoo.

They have definitely redone this place since the last time I was here four years ago. It looked really good!

We went there on a mildly rainy day for Portland. None of the animals in the Northwest exhibits were out, which surprised us. The food places were all closed. The best part was seeing the African animals, which were all out enjoying the rain!

The last time we were at the Oregon Zoo it was 2012. This time, we allowed for more time since e we loved it so much last time, but this time it was sprinkling rain, the zoo is under a bit of construction, and several of the animals we loved the first time weren't there this time. I'm not sure... More

If you like animals, you must visit the Portland's Oregon Zoo. Easy reachable with Tram. And with your tram-ticket you will get a small discount of the admission fee. World wild range of animals are waiting for you to see :). Including bears, eagles and condors.

Portland Zoo has great animal selection. Just be advised that right now there is a lot of construction going on and some parts of zoo are not accessible. Also the entry price ($11pp) seems steep, but that could be because we are from Washington DC and the National Zoo does not have entry fee. We enjoyed the visit but wished... More

Love the layout and natural paths through the zoo. They are building a huge exhibit for their elephants. Watched the lion pride for a long time because the cubs were active. The gift shop was nice, and clean. I took the rail to the entrance, so convenient!
