This is my second time at the Oregon Zoo within a couple of years visiting Portland. Again, I enjoyed the walks to the different areas of the zoo (Africa, Rain Forest, etc.), and enjoyed the new lion cubs running and jumping all over each other. The caretakers of this zoo are friendly, approachable and friendly. I'm excited to see the... More

I love going to the zoo and the one here in Portland is one of the nicest. It is well organized and the animals receive excellent care. The educational information is up to date and well presented. It is perfect to take your family or just go with friends.

I have two young kids and this is great to do with them. I had a membership for a year, but ended it because they started to charge for parking. There are a lot of animals to see. We could never get through all the exhibits in one day!

I will explain my title. I am use to zoo's that are set up to help the flo. You have an idea where to go. I am use to a zoo that doesnt feel like a zoo. Oregon Zoo had a lot of chain fences. Not to keep the animals in but just around the areas. So much greenery in... More

I have visited many zoos and this one was a bit disappointing . Smaller than most and a bit expensive for entrance fee.

This was my 2nd trip to the Oregon Zoo. This trip the animals seemed, I don't know sad. There was a polar bear shuffling backwards stopping short of falling into the water only to walk forward & then repeat the backward shuffle again, we were told he was exhibiting some kind of behavior of being caged. I don't know but... More

This is one of the nicer zoos I have been to and I really enjoyed it. There is a good selection of animals and I really liked how intimate the setting feels. They are currently in the middle of an expansion/renovation project that will take the next couple of years. The project has shrunk the area actually accessible by current... More

I liked the set up. The animal areas made sense, and I always appreciate an exhibit that reflects indigenous fauna for viewing as well. Most all viewing areas were a success, to include the bobcat area, with those ferocious little buggers being extremely shy. As usual, the otters and the penguins stole the show. Indeed, all the animals looked very... More

Nothing spectacular, but still a nice zoo. Tends too be so busy every time we visit that we are unable to see a portion of animals.

I went here many years ago and it was fun and nice to ride either a camel or elephant. I would want to look into their training practices now since we all know the Horrible Abuse that Elephants face with Ringling Brothers Circus "training" facility in Florida and throughout other Circuses, large and very small.
