Great stop on a bike tour given by a friend. I am not much of a rose lover, but it was interesting to see and smell the many different varieties. You also get a great view of Portland from the garden.

I'm not a flower guy. When my wife suggested we visit, I hesitatingly said OK. The truth is, I didn't want to leave the IRTG once we got there! It was amazing! Guys: fight the instinct to avoid the place. You can thank me later.

A trip to Portland is not complete without a visit to the Rose Garden. It's a lovely garden, and on a clear day, has a great view of Mt Hood and downtown Portland.

We spent about an hour at the rose garden with our two young girls. They thoroughly enjoyed seeing and smelling the many different roses. It was a fun adventure in the middle of the day.

This is a must-see if you come to Portland, The Rose City. Strolling through the rows and rows of roses perched high on a hill overlooking a beautiful city is both relaxing and enlightening. We go there time and again; it never gets old.

IMHO, this is a necessary part of every trip to Portland. Educational, calming, the flowers are wonderful, the view is great AND it is free.

August was the best for visiting the rose gardens! They were so beautiful. Evening free symphony concert, lovely setting. Watch out for the bees.

I went to this attraction in Washington Park this summer and I loved it. I spent a hour looking in the rose garden when I went to Portland for 2 days. They had all different types of roses. Many if you are not local you will have never seen before. I went in full bloom. All the roses have very... More

Free, accessible, lots of roses. What's not to like? A long walk or easy bus ride from the Pearl district.

Perhaps it was due to the time of year but I did not have the wow factor in this garden. I found it a bit boring and overdone.
