There's never a lack of events going on at Pioneer Courthouse Square. In late August the Italian festival has taken over the entire space with entertainment, food and plenty of commercial exhibits. There's plenty of space to hang out.

There always seems to be something going on a the square during the summer but most people use the square as a place to meet up.

We went there by using the light rail so it was easy to hop in and out. I was not very impressed by the beauty of the architecture of the area but it was Nice to see the center of the city. We ended up doing shopping and it was very pleasant. Do not miss Nordstrom Rack or Ross if... More

I visited the Square twice in one week. It was interesting to watch people from all walks of life. Food is readily available and sometimes performers provide entertainment. Watched a fashion show Sunday. Monday there was a Farmer's Market with many stalls offering locally grown fruit and vegetables, baking, jams, wine etc. Lots of food booths with many options. It... To be honest I was underwhelmed. I walked quite a way to get there and when I got there I thought "this is it?". No harm in going by it as you visit other items but I wouldn't make it a solo destination itself.

Busy downtown hub. You never know what you will see here. People of all walks of life mingle, perform, or sit and enjoy an outdoor lunch purchased at any of the nearby venues. Food varies from McDonalds to thai food carts.

This is the place I have heard most people from away use as the reference for a location. I have heard it called "blue hair park" as there are a wide variety of peoples that gather here. They have bands at noon and in the evenings on weekends. Nice place to grab a snack and relax.

Notice the names on the bricks beneath your feet. We donated to build this Square for the common citizen to enjoy. Sit with a coffee, wait for your train, soak in a few rays, listen to music if you're fortunate to be there when entertainment arrives.

If I'm going to go downtown on a perfect summer day, chill out, enjoy some sun, maybe a bite to eat, potentially some music or other event being hosted in the Square, this is where I'd spend my days in downtown. People are friendly, there are plenty of stores around, restrooms to use, shade, max line runs right by, yep... More

Fairly crummy little area. There are fifty, unwashed hippies competing for the oxygen. There are little junkies and runaways hanging out trying to mug you. The city puts in shows and exhibits to tempt folks but in fact the police and city refuse to move in an incarcerate the dirty, foul and lazy square puppies who hang out. (Square puppy... More
