Fun central place to people watch

Been here twice. Once to shop and people watch, and again for the tree lighting. It really is a fun place to just stop and watch Portland go by.

The square was just beautiful at Christmas, I would definitely recommend being here during the holidays.

This is the place to be for people-watching, concerts, special events, or just to sit and have lunch. Just know that there are lots of people everywhere.

Only upside is that it's close to some food trucks and shopping but otherwise there's not much to do here. Lots of homeless people that were harassing us and overall I don't see a reason to go here.

This was a nice quiet place to sit but there's not really much to see here. There's a tourist information centre which I didn't find helpful at all. Perhaps a nice place to rest and have a coffee!

A convenient meeting spot and place to people-watch. It can to be a bit of a circus at times. However, you will see all Portland archetypes here in the span of an hour.

Hard to write 100 characters about it. My title says it all. Portland is a great city to visit, but don't expect anything from it's "heart"

A good place to spend an afternoon if you want to hit a bunch of things at once: on a sunny day there are food carts that park on the square, during the summer there are free music and dance performances, and there are a bunch of shops of all kinds within walking distance.

An iconic Portland attraction. Lots of seasonal and special events are held here. When we were here they were taking down the Portland Christmas tree. The whole area is paved with bricks and there are several large art pieces scattered around including a metal stork on a pillar that somehow predicts the weather. Lots of homeless youth hang out around... More

It is a great place to see people and watch the movement of Portland center. There are some nice architectural monuments around.
