We were very lucky to come here when the police had their Memorial Day one day of the year where they change over the flag. We also witnessed the salute and the barges with the coloured water sprays of the American flag colours of the Stars and Stripes of red, white and blue. The band and bagpipers playing and saluting.... More

I have walked the water front park for years, but this time i got on a bike and rode about 5 miles on both sides of the river. There are a lot of homeless people - what is unique to portland is many of them are quite young. There is a lot to see and the route is well marked... More

It was neat to rent bikes. However, coming from Denver I was disappointed with the organization for bikers considering Portland is ranked as the #2 cycling city. The homeless population really soured me on the area since I saw no police or security. Had marshmallows thrown at me for not donating to all the beggars. Really liked the Pioneer Square... More

Had a lovely walk down the river in the sunshine. Was a beautiful day, and the park was amazing. Great view of the bridges. Make sure to take the Air Tram.

Many events go on there all summer long. Wonderful park for a stroll along the waterfront. Close to downtown. Many bikers too.

We were here during Fleet week and the Rose festival last June and the waterfront park was a little chaotic- not the peaceful stroll we were hoping for. We started at the Salmon Springs Fountain and it was a nice walk along the Willamette River with views of the water, the bridges and mountains and the visiting ships were pretty... More

Every Saturday at the park there is a very active market of crafts, food stands from all areas of the world and a lively atmosphere. The Susan Komen race for the cure starts here as well as activities during the Rose Festival in June. It is a lovely place for a picnic, and there is always something going on. We... More

Also known by us locals as the Fishbowl....we love our waterfront park...there is always something going on there whether it be a concert, festival, Saturday Market, or the Bluesfest. It's always a great place to look at all of Portlands Bridges and a great spot to watch people and take in the fresh air of downtown portland...there are so man... More
