Good place to walk or run

Very nice walk near the river. There is a fountain for the kids to splash in. There are a lot of places to eat nearby.

This large, shady park is such a pretty part of downtown Portland. If you are a pedestrian, like I always am, watch out for bicyclists, runners, and roller-bladers. There are often events in the park. River traffic is relatively light but it's still fun to watch the activities. You can easily make a large loop by crossing bridges to the... More

The park is lovely and pretty well maintained. It could be cleaner, but it's not bad and there are many shops and things to peruse along the way.

The Battleship Oregon Memorial is located in Waterfront Park between SW Pine and SW Oak Streets and close to the Oregon Maritime Museum. The USS Battleship Oregon was commissioned in 1896 and served in both the Spanish-American War & World War I, and later scrapped for her metal. The nickname for this historic ship was “Bull Dog of the Navy.”... More

We were very lucky to come here when the police had their Memorial Day one day of the year where they change over the flag. We also witnessed the salute and the barges with the coloured water sprays of the American flag colours of the Stars and Stripes of red, white and blue. The band and bagpipers playing and saluting.... More

I have walked the water front park for years, but this time i got on a bike and rode about 5 miles on both sides of the river. There are a lot of homeless people - what is unique to portland is many of them are quite young. There is a lot to see and the route is well marked... More

It was neat to rent bikes. However, coming from Denver I was disappointed with the organization for bikers considering Portland is ranked as the #2 cycling city. The homeless population really soured me on the area since I saw no police or security. Had marshmallows thrown at me for not donating to all the beggars. Really liked the Pioneer Square... More

Had a lovely walk down the river in the sunshine. Was a beautiful day, and the park was amazing. Great view of the bridges. Make sure to take the Air Tram.

Many events go on there all summer long. Wonderful park for a stroll along the waterfront. Close to downtown. Many bikers too.
