Also known by us locals as the Fishbowl....we love our waterfront park...there is always something going on there whether it be a concert, festival, Saturday Market, or the Bluesfest. It's always a great place to look at all of Portlands Bridges and a great spot to watch people and take in the fresh air of downtown portland...there are so man... More

This is an average waterfront park. Saw quite a lot of people walking and jogging, but also a lot of scary looking homeless people.

My wife and I took our daughter for Saturday brunch at Veritable Quandary and afterward we strolled along the Tom McCall Waterfront Park to the Saturday Market. It was threatening rain but it held off long enough for us to complete our walk and get a look at the market vendors. The Park is very scenic along the Willamette River.... More

They have great outdoor events at various times of the year. Nice river views or take a river cruise. A great walk on the waterfront around the Steel and Morrison bridges along and right next to downtownfor some great shopping and restaurants.

An annual event the "Bite of Oregon", is an experience all must see / do! Great food, lots and lots of vendors!!! We stayed at the River Place Marina in 2012 with our SeaRay, and it was walking distance to the park and the "Bite of Oregon"!

Waterfront Park is a great place for a walk or run with great paths, green spaces, and frequent events. Events such as Cinco de Mayo, Beer Fest, and Rose Festival Fun Center can get pretty crowded. Good for a stroll and visiting Saturday Market and any of the local restaurants, great view of the river.

In several visits to Portland I've found that this is a place to which I'm drawn, particularly early in the morning, just to stroll along the river and decompress. The scenery looking out toward the river consists mostly of an eclectic collection of bridges, from the Steel Bridge near the Oregon Convention Center to the Hawthorne Bridge farther down, though... This park overlooks the Willamette River from 100 foot high cliffs and the new suspension bridge is visible to the south. The park could use a couple more benches and trash cans were overflowing, but it was a holiday weekend. Garden needs a little maintenance as growing season has been over a month.

At the time of my visit the waterfront park was filled with geese. It was an unusual sight for me as geese are not that common where I live and hundreds of geese were in the grass walking, sleeping and talking to each other. The geese did not seem to be fearful of humans and would slowly walk away from... More

We didn't get to explore all of the Waterfront Park. The main reason for going was the Portland Saturday Market (also there on Sunday) which features a surprising amount of quality crafts as opposed to mass-produced tourist trinkets. The park has bike paths, open green areas all the way down to the water and it stretches for a good long... More
