Nice place to walk or picnic

Walked here with my wife and our daughter fiancee and their dog. Nice place for just about anything. Only drawback are the geese and their droppings

What should be a beautiful spot alongside the Willametter River is ruined by literally dozens of homeless individuals and other quite shady characters. We felt most uncomfortable walking through the park and left as quickly as we could. There are many other great green spaces to visit including Portland State University. I can't recommend coming to the Waterfront Park.

Long raised Riverfront walkway. Grass (sometimes dying), trees, bikes, freaks, Saturday Market and a fountain. A modern park along a river. Don't know what more there is to say. Don't MOST River Cities have one?

This is a great place to wile away hours on a sunny hot day. Many festivals are staged here along the Willamette River. Trains and busses stop here. Great place to people watch and river watch.

I attended a conference at the Marriott Hotel on the waterfront in downtown Portland. Every morning I walked across the street to the waterfront park to go for my morning walk. What beautiful scenery and each bridge has it's own characteristics. Lots of bikes, joggers and people walking. Such a fit city. The only downfall was walking past so many... More

Great place to run, stroll, or just hang out. The city does a good job keeping up appearances- watering lawns, caring for established plants, cleaning up after festivals. Really lovely in the spring when cherry trees bloom. Continue over the Hawthorne, or Steel Bridge and enjoy the East side esplanade. All walkable or rideable by bike. Yes, there are homeless... Lots going on here -- Jazz/music festivals, oldies performers, Taste of Portland, etc. Portland does have a significant homeless population; many times I've seen individuals sleeping in the park or asking for money.

Pack a suit and a towel. They have a pretty water play area for the kids. The water sprayers changed direction and keep the kids interested for a while. Lots of little places to eat and shop near. Pretty views and nice grassy area.

A former freeway now converted to a wonderful parkland, this area affords access to the river. Many events are. Held here throughout the year, including the weekend market and the famous Waterfront not Blues Fest.

One of Portland's outdoor venues for concerts, Rose Festival activities, walking, biking, the doggie dash and more. We love walking through that area regularly...you can't beat the people watching. You can definitely witness why Portland has its reputation of embracing all types of folks. It's one of the reasons Portland is so cool!
