Come hungry and don't bring your car or your dog. Creative, local food prepared right before your eyes. And don't forget the craftsman selling jewelry, wood and leather goods, so many items handmade, not mass produced. Bring your camera.

The market is in the middle of downtown Portland. The berries were so beautiful, and all items are locally grown. What a fun place to explore.

Some of the best and most creative artists! It's a must for tourists and you can walk through in less than an hour or spend the day shopping, eating and people watching. It's near the river and if the food at the market isn't appealing, there are lots of nearby restraunts.

A pleasant afternoon on an unusual hot day. Enjoyed it. Wonderful vendors and cordial shoppers. Bought some local Oregon wine. Some free tastings graciously shared with us.

The Portland Farmers Market (not to be confused with the Portland Saturday Market, which is something completely different) was recently ranked as the #2 Farmers Market in the US. The fresh produce dazzles the senses....mounds of giant Walla Walla onions, twenty types of peppers, succulent melons. Bring a cart....you do not want to carry a Hermiston melon five blocks back... Checked out this market last Saturday, its huge and full of great vendors and food. We bought a pint of blueberries for $3 and they were great. We also bought raspberries and cherries all very good. ' There are vendors there selling, meats, cheeses, lunch, dairy, honey, etc. The prices are affordable and you are getting fresh, locally grown goods.

We loved the Portland Farmers Market at Portland State U. It was a delight with easy hourly parking in the PSU garage and most vendors located in the shade. Local farmers sold everything from fresh greens and potatoes to cherries and blueberries so fresh they snapped when you bit them. There was locally made cheese, baked goods, coffee and juices,... Adjacent to the Portland State University campus, this market, with live entertainment, was huge. The fruits and vegetables looked so tempting that it was impossible to resist. I bought a carton of golden raspberries ... I had never seen such a thing before ... That were delicious. We lunched on hamburgers and tacos made from Wagyu beef from Pono Farms... More
