Fun shopping, browsing, eating and drinking. You can find just about any kind of food and beverage here, get your nails done, people watch and ride the streetcar. My favorite Thai place, the Red Onion, is here too. And you can catch the bus to Forest Park.

Love walking in the NW year round. Great dining, cafes, shops and people watching. One of my favorite places in Portland.

If you enjoy walking, hit the sidewalk. You'll see lovely Victorian homes with gardens dating back 150 years. Lots of Portland history here.

This is a fun area to browse the shops and grab a bite to eat. I loe going there with a friend for a leisurely, just hanging out kind of day. Both 23rd and 21st have great restaurants and shops, so don't miss either. I love Stella's and Archibald Sisters for fun gifts. City Market is also a very fun... More

Great little stores and restaurants. A few chains were present, like Levis and Anthropologie, but there were mostly individual, local establishments.

Fun quirky neighborhood with shopping and great restaurants. Walkable but sometimes hard to find parking. I would suggest using the great Portland Street Car system if you are coming to this neighborhood from downtown or other areas.

We wondered around after taking the street car up from downtown. What a beautiful spot. The main drag is nice but walk the residential area for a real eyeful of old homes that are mostly kept in nice shape.

Live in the area and retired, and am I prejudiced? Yes. Everyone comes to walk around. Interesting stores. Good restaurants. Lots of action all the time. Many coffee shops. If you like Greenwich Village of old there is a touch of it here in Portland.

This is the place to stroll, be seen, shop and eat. It's a fun area to be for a few hours. Worst part is the parking. Best part is the people watching.

NW 23rd is a unique area of Portland with its many different architectural homes and the cool part is how close they have built these houses next to each other. Great walking around the residential areas and down 21st and 23rd. A great number of delicious and diverse restaurants, stores, pubs, martini bars and even the Aveda Spa.
