Wanted to do something on the water on our 1 day trip in Newport. Based on the reviews on trip advisor we decided on marine discovery tours. The sea was rough and foggy but the captain tried to go out a little way and they did drop the crab pots. But he felt it was too rough so he headed... more

$35 per person, but well worth it. You spend 2 hours total on the boat. It takes about 15 minutes or so to get out of the bay and out into the ocean. When the ocean is not too rough, you'll spend almost all the cruise out there. We dropped two crab pots in the bay west of the bridge... more

The Marine Discover Tours offer a variety of choices. We took a two-hour cruise out on the Pacific in hopes of spotting whales and learning about the ecology of the area.
