A 2 hour cruise around the bay. There was a small group of 5th graders on the boat, which actually made it more fun. The naturalist on board helped the kids scoop plankton and then look at it with a microscope that projected images on a screen, Then they netted bigger sea-life--fish, crabs, etc and talked about them. We went... More

Captain Bob and Delpha were GREAT! They made it a point to speak to everyone on the boat and to make everyone comfortable. There was a 4year old very precocious little girl. They both let her "help" and they made her feel very special. The trip was for whale watching but was so much more. They shared local history and... More

I was skeptical about going on this tour but I'm so glad I did. Well worth it! The captain made it fun and they were very educated and it showed. We saw two whales, porpoises, and jellyfish! So much fun. I'd highly recommend!

We went on the tour at the end of July so we had no expectations of spotting any whales, just wanted a nice boat ride. The captain and naturalist made the trip very enjoyable for everyone. There were several small kids on board and they had a blast setting and picking up the crab traps. They all got to hold... More

We took the tour at the beginning of July. The captain and 'naturalist' we SO nice. Our kids ages 2-7 all loved it. It was very interactive, the kids got to see how crabs are caught in traps and they got to hold them and we got to view plankton under a microscope. We even got to see Grey Whales!... More

I don't know if we were disappointed because the trip was geared toward a school field trip, but we found there to be little narration from the captain and the staff. I would have hoped we would have learned more about the Oregon Coast as we are not from the area. The boat is well maintained and the kids on... More

What a great time! Our captain, Don and naturalist, Fran, were knowledgable and friendly. They provided interactive learning for the kids on board and answered any questions posed to them. Both were fantastic at pointing out sea life while on our tour and explaining terms, Oregon sea history, and whale migration patterns. Worth every penny!

The title of my review was exclaimed by my friend part way through the tour. While some of the joy was good luck (a clear day, partly sunny behind us but with enough cloud cover that we were able to spot the whales more easily -- and we saw at least 3 whales including a simultaneous double blow by two... This is an ideal way to experience the ocean for the very first time. It is primarily an educational outing, You learn about sea life of all sorts. You see for yourself what the ocean looks & feels like when you are out in it. The crew was very helpful when several people experienced motion sickness. We looked for whales... More
