We like to come to Newport for this boat parade to kick off the Christmas season as it is nice to ride along on the boat in the parade. Always good cookies and hot chocolate and good service.
Very knowledgeable staff including a marine biology student who provided us with excellent information and hands-on display of crabbing. 2 hour boat trip of the harbour and ocean and we saw lots of marine animals. The captain was also interesting and we learned alot about Newport and area by his commentary.
First off, I have to say that Captain Don and our naturalist were great. Very friendly and informative. We were so excited for this experience, but were somewhat disappointed in the end. It was very foggy the day we went and after spending only a small time out on the ocean, the captain decided to head up the river instead....

I wish I could give this tour a little higher rating. I believe this was my first time on the ocean and not being used to it may have a little something to do with it. The captain and naturalist did do a wonderful job. The naturalist Melody did a great job in telling us about ocean life and even...

The captain and naturalist were friendly and knew their stuff. The tour itself was nice. Despite the fog, we saw 1 gray whale. The thing that really impressed me was how they handled passengers who got sea sick, including my husband. They gave advice about how to handle and even offered some lavender to soothe the symptoms.
This two-hour harbor and ocean (weather permitting) cruise is well worth the time and money. Everyone on board was extremely pleased as the morning fog lifted just as we passed under the Highway 101 bridge. We viewed three gray whales within 2 miles of the bridge. In addition, the Captain and the naturalist (Melody) pointed out many other types of...

We originally had scheduled a trip with another company but they gave us the wrong time. We were 20 minutes off and they didn't have a boat. This other company told us to go next door and go on their cruise. I am so glad we did. When Marine Discovery heard what happened to us they bent over backwards to...

We loved it! Our "naturalist" was amazing!! On the way out my son was able to use fish and bait a crab trap, my daughter threw the trap out to sea. After that fun experience we were able to see two whales feeding out in the ocean, the we saw some seals and sea lions. Pelicans as well! On the...

My husband and I went on this tour the end of June 2012 while visiting his Aunt in Newport. We were not disappointed. The Crew was friendly, knowledgable and entertaining. They went out of their way to make everyone feel comfortable incuding those who suffered from some sea sickness. They also had severral activities with crabbing which they engaged passengers...
