I visited the Yaquina Head on a foggy summer afternoon so the need for a light house in this area was illuminated. The visitor’s center has many interactive that are aimed at grade school kids but I found the history of the lighthouse keepers to be really interesting. The walk across the cobbles to get to and from the tide... More

The views of the ocean were spectacular and made for some amazing pictures. However the flies that are around the door to the lighthouse get ALL over you. I never knew it was even possible that so many flies could gather in one area. The tour is with groups of 12-14 people that are led up the stairs, and can... More

We are coming back to this place. The view was amazing and the wildlife was breathtaking. I just wish that when we went there it not that cold but its worth visiting the place.

The lighthouse tour was lovely, and the views outside on the platform are wonderful. The cobble stone beach tide pool was loaded with playful seals when we went. There are may places to stroll around and take in the sea air and beautiful views. We did not go into the nature center, we didn't have time but I wish we... More

The educational center was very interesting and informative. Although it was just my husband and I this would be terrific for school-aged kids too. A great interactive learning experience.

The visitor center exceeded expectations; would be even better if we'd had kids along to enjoy the activities available for them. We didn't trek down to the tidepools or beach, but were very impressed by the film about accessibility; our somewhat-disappointed view might have been different if we'd taken in all the features. The lighthouse tour guides in costume were... More

Spent a cloudless afternoon exploring this attraction. Climbed to the top ofthe lighthouse for the 360 view from the top which was breathtaking. Then we walked down to the tide pools and checked out the sea stars. There were rumors that day that they had spotted whales in the area but we didn't glimpse any. The "walk" back up the... More

very limited sea creatures during our visit & it was just 2 hours past lowest tide. Really not worth the effort of the stairs to get down.
