I made several trips to Newport before coming here. Not really a secret but lesser known a visitor might miss this place. Quieter and a little more upscale than the more popular Bayfront, this place is a very charming. Smaller, more artsy and less touristy discriminating visitors could enjoy this little find. Performing Arts Center has several local theater groups... More

Lots of activity, lots of little speciality shops, unique items offered. Parking near, and public restrooms all located near the beach! Great little area.

Discovered this area by driving off the 101 highway, towards the water.....never been down by the beach before here at Nye Beach. Found a very nice hotel...The water view from our room on the top floor was exciting and incredibly gorgeous. The water was a color I've never seen....VERY BROWN SANDY BEACH.....stunning views looking out over the water. Restaurants were... More

After 7 weeks on the road; it was nice to prepare dinner in our "own" apartment! I love the view and the amazing view from the balcony!

I stayed at Nye Beach for 9 days . On the last day I was there I wondered into an Art-type gallery which was located right on the beach. I wish I could remember the name of the place. When I walked in everyone was so nice. I was surprised at the what I discovered. There was all kinds of... More

A good place to park and access the beach, or just watch the waves or someone flying a kite. Our granddaughter got married on the beach there. You just never know what you might see there! It is a fun place to visit.

Busy place, lots of traffic; expensive boutiques and shops; even the Chowder Bowl which has been located there well over a decade, if not two, has kept pace with the high priced stores and non-personal customer service. I guess one could say it is a place to visit if you've never been, as a tourist, but one that has lost... More

This is an area of a variety of small shops, art, tourist stuff, jewelry, new and used books, candy etc. interspersed with restaurants. There are a variety of rental homes and B&B's, and it's all within walking distance of the BEACH! It's hard to leave the area without buying something and or eating, I did both and enjoyed it.

Nye Beach caters to tourists. Eateries are predictable, a bit over priced. Shops are too predictable in offering the usual tourist goods, glass knicknacks (sometimes called art), clothes, etc. Some good eateries. Waterfront is a broad sandy beach, good for walking and picknicking but no interesting rocks or tidepools.
