Nice quiet part of town. The old area has several bars and restaurants. We ate in the Chowder House. It was small and comfortable. The staff were helpful and friendly. We enjoyed the walk to the beach. The street has alot of character, only a block long.

The best thing about Nye beach is that if your accommodations are in the area, you don't have to drive in order to eat, sleep, and get down to the beach... I loved this. Also there is an arts center right there, and lots of places to grab lunch!

Meh! Not sure what the fuss was about...a few cute shops, the beach was great ofcourse. One little spot we had lunch at was so dirty and scummy inside. Food was great though and it all stayed down. Not sure I would bother next trip.

Great local restaurants, charming gift shops, beautiful and clean beach. Bring a jacket. It's chilly and rarely warmer than 70 degrees.

Nye Beach is different from other beaches we've visited in that it has a very long beach surface. The waves are very shallow and the sand is hard so it's easy to walk on.

Nye Beach is reason enough to visit Newport (although there are plenty of other reasons, as well). It really is a collection, an amalgam, of businesses ranging from quaint restaurants, pubs, inns, intimate hotels, art galleries, a museum of local art, women's clothing, and the usual assortment of gift shops which coastal locations attract. All of this within a walkable... More

Really enjoyed walking around the small seaside village of Nye Beach looking at art shops, gift shops and little restaurants. Very cute area and recommend it to the visitors of the Newport area.

We had been to Newport before but not to Nye Beach. If you want to stay on the beach in Newport this is the side of town to be on. It can be busy during the day but less crowded in the evening. It's an older historic part of town with restaurants, shops and places to stay.
