Don't go out of your way to visit this destination. Yes, it has a few shops and some eateries, but the shopping is nothing such as you will find in Newport proper. The beach is nice, but there are many beaches in the area. Want shopping? Go to SW Bay Blvd. Want a beach? Pick one off of the highway.

Park your car and spend the day wandering around the artsy shops and tidy pubs. If photography is your thing, there are plenty of interesting nooks and crannies that will keep you snapping away for hours.

The weekend of March 28th, my wife and I came to Nye Beach for a weekend getaway. We walked the beach, from our hotel, and up into the shopping district. What a bunch of neat shops! EVERYTHING! From kitchen shops to knick knack shops, clothing stores, restaurants, art galleries, and even wine tasting! It is all relatively close, so easy... More

Of all the times I have drove by the sign until last week I never stopped, I'm glad we did this time. The town really is sweet and has a bit of that old time beach feel. The beach itself is small and you have to watch for the tide but I will e bringing a picnic next time, great... More

Charming little main street with shops, art galleries and restaurants to explore leading to the spectacular ocean beach. Walk for miles in either direction and loose yourself in the ocean breeze or even fly a kite. When in Newport a place to truly see and remember.

Nye Beach is more than just a beach, although the beach goes on forever. It's a great place for kites or building sand castles. The area of Nye Beach is also home to many quaint and interesting little shops. One of my favorites was the book store. It was, at one time I'm sure, a house and now all the... More

Such a fun place to stroll around. Lots of little eateries, great shopping- from upscale boutiques, galleries, to funky little bookstores. I always make time to pop in and always find some unique gift items.

While most Oregon beaches are known for awesome haystack rocks and beautiful tide pools, this beach is more like a typical Californian beach. Wide, sandy, few rocks. It's open and gorgeous. The beach has some parking, not a lot, but it's usually not full unless it's a holiday or maybe a sunny weekend. There are quite a few shops and... More
