While most Oregon beaches are known for awesome haystack rocks and beautiful tide pools, this beach is more like a typical Californian beach. Wide, sandy, few rocks. It's open and gorgeous. The beach has some parking, not a lot, but it's usually not full unless it's a holiday or maybe a sunny weekend. There are quite a few shops and... More

This beach is just off the old part of Newport. Great sand, nice views and a great place to just relax. And it is close to some great little coffee shops and restaurants.

The Nye Beach area is a delight. It offers a terrific, wide beach, restaurants, lodging, decent parking, and a diversity of shops. There is something for almost anyone to do. And, most of the area is dog friendly!

We always visit Nye Beach when we come to Newport. Specifically because of the access. With toddlers and an infant it isn't easy making some of the climbs offered to access the beach. This particular spot however is very kid friendly as the walk is literally steps to the sand.

Flat, firm sand, Easy sand to walk on. Over a mile of sparsely populated beach. Beautiful area with boulders coming out of sand.
