I have stayed here in my camper truck over 10 times. I love it! Yes it's huge and there will be people camping right next to you....it's an RV/camp park. But, like most who visit the Oregon coast, you don't hang out in your camp all day...you explore! Summer months are going to be very busy so be prepared and... More

We really enjoyed this park. Nice layout, loved the fog horn (people complained and actually asked if it could be turned off....really?), nice place to bike to the beach and jetty and around the park. Chilly and foggy at night, but made it all the better. Our space backed up to the dunes so we could hear the fog horn... More

Best beach combing in Newport and panoramic views of the sunset! Shortest walk to the ocean. Great family experience!

My husband and I very much enjoyed our time at South Beach State Park. It was reasonably priced, and the staff and camp hosts were friendly and informative. The beach is a short walk away and it is gorgeous- not super busy so lots of room for everyone, and decent surfing. PRO'S: Clean campground: well maintained, bathrooms were clean, beach... More

Ended up camping in H loop (tent-only area). Fees were reasonable, scenery was very nice. Some idiot biker in the site across from us decided 7 a.m. was the perfect time to do some work on his obnoxiously loud Harley. The camp hosts were absent or derelict on their duty. My fiancé and I got to listen to someone's too-loud... More

This is a great campground, is very large but facilities are new, well maintained. Great showers (free!) and bathroom areas. Cheap firewood. Walk to beach and 5min drive to Newport town. Really excellent spot to camp. Friendly & helpful hosts & rangers. Compares especially well against some dumpy California state parks we had visited beforehand.

Super clean campground. A LOT of staff. We saw 12 camp host sites - the most we've ever seen in one place. Showers were hot, clean and FREE - 4 at each shower/bathroom site. For a large campground, it felt pretty cozy. Beach was a good walk but worth it. We clammed under the bridge going to Newport on a... More

We were here for the really low clam tide. The park was clean, host was friendly. This would be a great place for familyies with children. There are alot of grassy areas for the the kids to run and play in. The only complaint is the only garbage cans were out at the entrance. Not very convenient if you are... More

Stayed 3 nights in 5th wheel - Nice sized sites - electric/water - no sewer......park adjacent to the beach (within walking distance). Very shaded with trees - park clean and staff very friendly. Lots to do nearby - Newport 2 miles away. Only complaint - lots of mosquitos! Would recommend and would stay again.

I usually lean towards positive reviews but I was a bit disappointed with this place. Seemed average at best. Our hotel recommended this place for our two small grandchildren to explore at low tide. We got out, dressed warm and hiked over the dune to the beach and were stunned to see nothing but a long beach and a jetty.... More
