We recently returned from our brief camping trip to South Beach State Park just south of Newport's (Oregon) Yaquina Bay Bridge. The reason we chose this state park was because we were able to camp there in a yurt with our dogs. Our campsite was nice, partially shaded, with plenty of room for parking and privacy. Some of the sites... More

This is one of the most amazing beaches I have ever seen. The sand is fine and white, a beautiful view of the entrance to the Yaquina River, lots of parking and clean washrooms

If you enjoying walking on the beach this the place to go. You can walk for several miles. On low tide i found several sand dollars in beautiful condition. The only downside was you have to walk up a small sand bank and down before getting into the hard sand other then that it is a great place to walk... More

We stayed in loop I, one of the tent only loops. Our neighbors were very nice. There seemed to be a lot of dogs, but we rarely heard barking. We had no interactions with the hosts. Each night, when all was quiet, we could hear the sea lions barking. "Murray, get off of me, I'm trying to sleep." "Helen, your... More

We stayed and played at South Beach State Park. It was beautiful and inexpensive to park our motorhome. We had to walk about 1/2 mile to the beach, at the time the weeds were quite high. It would have been nice to not have to walk around the weeds. But once getting to the beach and seeing the sunset it... More

This campground was very full when we stayed here in August. The sites are very close together. I'm sure I was able to see at least ten other sites and everyone in them from our own picnic table. Sade wasn't a problem at all, in fact more sun would have been nice. The washrooms were nice and clean. There was... More

COOP 8 - Best yurt we stayed in during our long trip around WA & OR (cheapest too!). This yurt is located at the end, away from the others. More private. Awesome beach a short walk away. Sites are not as close to the beach as Cape Lookout or Tillicum though. Washrooms/showers were not so close to our yurt either,... More

This campground has over 200 sites; it's a great place to camp if you rarely need to get rid of garbage and don't need to use the dump station. The campsites don't have much privacy and some sites have very little shade. Pad sizes vary and some were situated so that it was difficult to back in a trailer even... More

Our church has their annual family camp here each August. We enjoyed the campsites with water and electrical outlets. Bathrooms were clean. Loved the paved walkways/bike trails. Easy ride to the aquarium.

We stayed here for my husbands annual family camping trip. Our group of 35+ rented 7 spaces, there was a combination of trailers w/full hook-ups, tents and yurts. I stayed in a yurt w/ my family of 5. The yurts were nice size and were comfortable for a double bunk style bed and a futon, just bring extra sleeping bags... More
