We used this uncrowded beach as a nice place to get in our beach walks. Easy access from the day-use parking lot (with a rest room). Long stretches of flat sand both north and south. Go north to enjoy sitting on the south jetty to watch the boats come and go.

Great campground for RVs. Lots to do for kids and adults alike. Paved trails to the beach. Take bikes. For older kids and adults you can ride your bike quite a ways into the bay. Easy access to the beach. Full day use facilities.

Nice State park facilities for camping and day use. Interpretive signs, trails. Of course the beach is the best part! There are often surfers here to watch.

Most surfers know about this area and is it a top choice for surfuers. However it is a great stop for families who want to experience the OR coast beach- unlike any beach you will find in So Calif. Remember to bring your hoddies, dress warm and if you plan on going in the ocean- make sure you have a... More

Not sure I would want to stay here again.. They tell me they are short staffed but if you go to the booth they don't come to help you? It was not a good experience and to top it off we had to go pay to dump as there dump station is inadequate. bathrooms were not to clean either..

We had a wonderful time camping at this state park in early October. It books full during the summer months and was about 1/2 occupied when we were there - everyone seemed really friendly and happy to be there including the park hosts and hospitality yurt volunteers. We enjoyed journeying clear out the south jetty (wear good shoes - it's... More

If all the other campgrounds are full on the coast, you can usually find a spot here. It is not a great place, but hey, you're at the ocean! The spots are a little close together and open and it is a little sandy, but the restrooms are clean and plentiful and you can walk over the dunes to a... More

A short walk over a small sand dune and you are at a wonderful beach! We kitesurf here, surf, boogie board, sand slide down the dunes and whale watch. A great place to spend the day.

There were multiple trails to ride your bike. You could ride your bike all the way to the bridge and the aquarium.

Stayed 6 nights at South Beach State Park - site A09 - wonderful experience. Very very clean bathrooms and showers - plenty hot water. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Whole park extremely clean and well maintained.
