It's great to take pictures outside of the shops, but the shops themselves were disappointing. We went around to all the ones that were open in hopes of finding a souvenir, but it seemed like everything being sold as "antique" was just random things one may find around the house. The people working were nice, but it was better for... More

On the Wednesday, in November, when we visited, most of the Shoppes were closed. However, if you are a fan of Pirates, it is a Must See, if only for the Shoppe Decor. Get photos poising with male and female Pirate statues. The Shoppes that were open had a myriad of Pirate and Sailing themed merchandise at reasonable prices.

While camped in the excellent nearby Port of Newport Marina RV Park, we always visit this interesting place. As we were browsing, a model sailboat back in a vendors space (not the massive model over the counter) caught my eye. It had a black pattern on the sail. Closer examination revealed a tiny Bat resting after the nightly scavenge. Wife... More

In the past there have been lots of antiques/collectible a to look through. Now, the majority is "crafty" stuff or "cheap" products like party favor type. Not much in old stuff! Worst is no longer any public restroom!!!!!!

Cool idea but looked like a giant flea market. Half the shops were vacant, and some were so creepy and shady we didn't even want to go inside.

We wasted an hour and a half there. There was nothing I would take home. Felt like "left over from a garage sale stuff." Someone blew up the bathroom, which is located by the front door. Must not have had a working fan or a can of air freshener. You could almost see the blue haze floating down the aisles.... More

Cute 'walk-a-bout' mall with various artists' shops and some fun statues you can place your faces in for pictures. Fun to wander and explore rock/gem shop, 2nd hand store, glass blowing, etc.

Went on a Thursday half the shops were closed the other half were bland and or thrift shop like. Paint peeling and figures falling apart. Could have been a great place once upon a time.

Cool area for pictures with the kids....few shops to look in. Looks like the place is getting more deserted as time goes by. Too bad this isn't on the bayfront, it would do sooo well there! Especially if all the shops where full! There is a HUGE store that has a dragon on the front that is full of misc... More

We have visited Pirate's Plunder on all of our visits to Newport in the past 10 years. It was always fun and I have many little treasures in my home that came from this unique place. This visit was probably our last! The first thing that struck me was that it was so quiet! There are very few antiques or... More
