My trip was for rockfish, ling cod, and crab and it fulfilled my expectations of a good time. Our boat limited on the rock fish (7) and dungeness crab (12). The captain and crew were very helpful and pleasant. No one caught any ling cod. The sea was still a bit fast, and it was hard to tell if you... More

We planned a family trip to fish late in the season. We had heard the boat did not catch much the day before but a sister boat did find some salmon. Yes, after dropping crab pots, we went about ten miles west of he tea light house, and found some fish. The captain and crew were great at getting to... More

I have gone bottom fishing with Tradwinds, Newport for nearly 40 years and my wife of the last 25 years has enjoyed going as well. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, the boat crews are also knowledgeable, professional and friendly. We have always had good luck going with them and see no reason to change. If you want to check... More

Our group of 7 booked 2 days of fishing months in advance, a 12 hour tuna day and a 10 hour combo (salmon, bottom fish and crabbing) day. A few days before the trips the boat captain for the second day called to tell us that ODF had changed the depth regulations and we had to change the trip and... More

Booked fishing trip 6 months prior to our vacation. A week before our scheduled trip we walked in TWICE to confirm reservation. Day of fishing trip we arrive and we are told the boat broke down by one lady and then another tells us that we aren't scheduled for that time. They lied and sent out a fishing boat we... More

This trip is NOT for beginners, as it is five hours long and even though they gave us a brief overview of how to work the fishing rods/reels, the Captain (with ever-present cigarette in his mouth) actually admonished me for forgetting not to press a button on the reel when I hit the rocks on the bottom. "We went over... More

We booked a ocean salmon fishing trip and are totally glad we did! First - all of the staff is knowledge and friendly! The ship - we were on the Sea Pirate II and it was the cleanest fishing ship I have ever seen. You can tell the captain and his one man crew take pride in her. The trip... More

The crew was fantastic! Andrew was awesome, as were the entire crew. We didn't make it out of the bay before a GrayWhale and her baby spouted not 10 feet from our boat! We would have paid double for the experience of a lifetie. I lived a and worked on fishing boats in Alaska and these guys are top notch.... More

No whales were seen but we expected we would not since its later in the migrations. Was my first time out to sea , even thiugh I felt a little sick it was still a... More
