We are retired and visited this aquarium as a couple. There were a lot of families there with children. The exhibits held the interest of both young and old. A lot of things for children and very interesting for adults. We have been to other aquariums and this was not just about walking around fish tanks. The exhibit about ship... More

No trip to the Oregon coast is complete without a stop at the Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport. We left the Inland Northwest to escape the smoke and forest fires and spent our first day in Newport in that kind of pouring mist you'll only find in a coastal destination. But we figured "what the heck" and spent the day... More

We got there for opening so had plenty of space and time to view all the exhibits, they have loads of kids interactive things to complete, the kids loved the plankton microscopes and navigating using the nautical charts especially. The highlight for us all though was the volunteers who were all exceptionally welcoming and knowledgeable and took the time to... More

I went to see what the Oregon Coast Aquarium had to offer. The cost was rather pricey for what it was. They did give a AAA discount and with that it cost me $17 to get in, I felt there could have been a bit more variety in marine life exhibited, but there was enough here to keep yourself entertained... We really enjoyed this aquarium. We arrived right when they opened and there was no one there, which was great. The sea otters and the aviary were the highlights of this place.

The aquarium is really well done and the kids had fun. But in total it took us less then 1.5 hours to see it all. Given the price we were a little disappointed with that. But the exhibits are well done, especially like the ship wreck stuff.

Way too expensive!! The prices in the gift shop are a joke. My kids enjoyed it but are smart enough to know the price they were asking for things (gifts, food etc.) was outrageous. It was almost too crowded to enjoy because we couldn't get up close to anything without being pushy (like others were being) We will not waste... More

Loved the displays, really interesting. The birds were beautiful. Thought there would be more exhibitions though. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area.

This is a smaller than usual public Aquarium, however it is a lovely presentation. They have a few really nice displays that include being able to walk through a tunnel type area and the fish (mostly sharks) can be seen swimming above, below and beside you. The gift shop has a wonderful and extensive assortment of gifts for purchase. I... More

We are a couple whose kids have left the nest. We enjoyed the aquarium but the displays are not very plentiful. The large, deep water tanks and the Aviary are interesting but every thing else felt small and very limited to the Oregon coast. That said, we could see that if we were to take elementary aged children here, they... More
