This is a beautiful lake when full, but recent droughts have left it a little low. There's a lovely campground, a cafe, boat docks, boat rentals. It's a fun place. Drive up the mountains to get there is half of the fun because of beautiful scenery Jane L.

A local sailing club (Rogue Yacht Club) hosts regattas on this lake, and they are excellent. These are not really large yachts, but smaller rigs. Sail on!

We camp or boat at Howard Prairie several times durng the summer. The campling experience is alwasy enjoyable, especially if you get a lakeside camp spot. Watching the Canadian Geese and the American Whte Pelicans that frequent the lake, is an experience not to miss. You will also see lots of Osprey and even Bald Eagles. My husband was amazed... More

We live in So. Or. but never camped on the south end of the Valley. Heard great reviews of Howard Prairie Lake Campground so decided to give it a go. Reserved a site online which was easy and nice but that was about the only thing I liked. The sites are either on a hillside with your neighbors right on... More

Nice Jackson county campground about 4500ft in elevation. Large sites with lots of trees, but not very level for large rvs. There were deer, ducks, geese and two bald eagles fishing across the lake. Sail boats, ski boats paddle boats and of course fishing boats. They have Friendly staff and host. Little store with mostly fishing tackle, cafe, soft serve... More

My wife and I have come here quit often over the years for lunch, takes us about an hour to get here from home. Yesterday we came, parked and took the dog to the boat ramp to get him wet before we went in to eat. Walked the dog around the parking lot for a quick drip dry, gone about... More

In the Cascade Mountains about 30 minutes from Ashland, it's at the base of at Mt. McLaughlin shown in the picture. A "must see" spot if you're visiting Southern Oregon

Great place to get away from the hectic! A great place to fish, relax by the lake, camp in the many campgrounds around the lake or at the resort that has full hook-up. The store and restaurant at the resort have the basics for supplies.

Lake, trails, bike paths, views, animals... all within 45 minutes of most of the Rogue Valley. 4 great camping areas, some with power. And the food at the lodge is darn good. What a great place for a day trip!

It's close to Medford and pleasant. The nearby scenery is gorgeous. The lake is, well, it's a lake. Since I'm not a "water-baby" or a fisherman, it doesn't do much for me except be a pretty view.
