I love taking the excursions on the Mt. Hood Railroad! They have a variety of them, so one is never bored! We have taken many seasonal excursions, and the Polar Express, and Trail Robbery. I have also taken my Campfire group on one. We stop in the little town of Parkdale for a ramble and ice-cream. Always a joyful experience.

We rode the Mt. Hood Mystery Dinner train. It was a fun trip, the food was okay, the mystery entertaining, but we had a problem with the train office. We had two extra tickets which the office said they'd try to sell to someone else. They did sell them, we had two strangers at our table, but the railroad didn't... More

Wonderfull journey to Parksdale. Booked seats in First Class and was not disappointed-staff very pleasant, and service was great!! My Husband and I had pre ordered the Chicken Wrap and it was very tasty. Not a lot to do in Parksdale, however still a nice stop.

We did the Sunday brunch train in one of the Dome cars [ a big advantage for viewing the scenery, nice & cozy air conditioned car with a narrow, short stairway up to your table w/ cushioned bench seating, washrooms are below in the same car. There are no outdoor/open cars on this train. It was a very nice meal... More

We spent a Sunday trip. We had a weekend family reunion in Hood River and we decided to include Thursday train trip in our itinerary. We took the lowest fare, $30 each, and we're glad we just took a budget trip. The train ride was exciting, we were on tables of four, and we just enjoyed catching up, as this... More

That trip tio Parkdale- excellent scenery. The lunches were given to us in small boxes and they weren't very extensive- just enough to tide one over, The satff on board and the narratyion were great!

Have taken the train all 4 seasons. Spring for the flossoms, Summer for the fun and views of Mt. Hood, Fall for the color and winter for the holidays. Also experience mystery theater (fall) and turkey bowling (Thanksgiving). All rfun and a great way to see the Hood River Valley.

I have been on the Skunk River Train in California, so I was expecting a scenic journey across rivers and canyons. Instead, it simply went through orchards and trees (which, no doubt, would be colorful in the Fall) and stopped at a postage sized town with a small museum, a craft shop or two, and a couple of restaurants. In... More

My grandpa has always wanted to do this so I thought it would be a great Father's Day gift! I ordered the gift certificate 6 days in advance and the man on the phone assured me they would make it to my address before Saturday. It's Father's Day and no gift certificate! My address is in Monmouth a.k.a not that... More
