As a child he always wondered what it would be like to be a winemaker like his grandfather Achille. After running his own import company specializing in Italian wines for over 20 years, Franco began planting his favorite Northern Italian grapes in Hood River, where the climate and soil are just like Northern Italy. Please come visit, and taste our wines. Salute! « less

Not only is this region breathtaking, the wine tasting was lovely, as was the staff. I thoroughly enjoy my short visit. I left with a beautiful bottle of wine (and a little buzz!)

We really enjoyed visiting the winery. The people were very helpful. There is a great old meat slicer there for great itallian sausage. We shared a bottle of excellent wine and some snacks. Highly recommended.

We were working our way through the fruit loop and were about done with wine for the day (this was about 6 hours into our fruit loop tour). We decided to stop at one more place, and ended up choosing Marchesi Vineyards off the map - are we ever glad we did! The service here was unparalleled and setting was... More

While taking the "Fruit Loop," we had our fill of fruity--it was time for rich, Italian-style red wines so we went to Marchesi Vineyards. We went up to the bar and ordered our tastings, and we were told to take a table anywhere and they would come take care of us. So, we found a table that was actually in... More

We visited Marchesi Vineyards today, with 4 adults and a toddler. We enjoyed a delicious tasting of wines, our favorites being the Barbera and a Primativo, and purchased those. The Wine club is reasonable with two, six bottle offerings annually. Small, local, and lovely. Great antipasti tray and yummy breadsticks. We will be back!

We were traveling from Portland to the Walla Walla area and looking for a winery to stop at along the way. What a great find! We were greeted by Drew who immediately told us the background of the winery. Soon the winery owner wine maker Franco came in and chatted for a bit. Very nice and down to earth guy.... More

This winery has it all. Great wines, nice grounds, friendly family run, and nice meat and cheese plates. Marchesi is by far the best wines and tasting room in the Hood River Valley.

If you are visiting Hood River this is a must! Having been to Napa Valley experiencing large to small wineries, I fell in love with a true gem. The wine is top notch, but it is accompanied by a gracious staff, comfortable setting of indoor as well as outdoor tables adjacent to the vineyard looking out to the hills of... More

Visited Marchesi Vineyards on our visit to Hood River. Loved the wine and joined the club. We've been members more than 2 years now and haven't had a disappointment. Good customer service and good Italian roots. Love it!
