Amazing place to visit, especially if you love history! So many antique planes and vehicles/ motorcycles of all types. The volunteers are friendly and full of information. It is amazing to see how far technology has come from the first planes and cars to now. What a selection they have to show you! I have many pictures, but on my... More

Thank you for reviewing. Much of the WAAAM collection can be grouped together as types of vehicles your average person would have had during their era - the airplanes that taught America how to fly and the cars that became part of our families. Visiting is a great way to bring history to life and to see it in motion... More

Traveling with some friends who are car nuts so we decided to stop in. Pleasantly surprised at the diversity of exhibits from planes, bikes, automobiles and old stuff. Walked away with a greater appreciation of airplanes. There was also some great volunteers willing to talk to you about the exhibits.

Thank you for the review and for posting photographs. The story of airplanes, automobiles, and motorcycles are a lot more interconnected than many people realize. WAAAM is a great way to see these connections first hand and still in operating condition. More

We spent the afternoon at this wonderful museum and hubby (me, too) can't wait to go back! They have an extensive display of airplanes (over 70) and automobiles (over 130)that still fly and drive! They have motorcycles, bicycles, tractors, military jeeps and planes. The displays of tool shops are like walking into my dad's shop when I was growing up.... More

Thank you for reviewing. As of August 2015 the collection now has over 120 airplanes, 145 automobiles, 30 motorcycles, and more. As anyone can imagine it takes us a few years to cycle through the whole collection but we regularly get things out flying and driving to keep them alive. More

My husband and I have been to many of this type museums over the U.S. This collection of antique cars and planes was among the best. There are many other collections and antiques as well so most anyone could find something they would enjoy. The interesting point about this collection is they actually take items out to drive them or... More

Thank you for the review. Transportation history covers so many different things people are always surprised at what they can find at WAAAM. Because we having a living history collection, most things don't have time to sit around gathering dust because we are always moving them around. More

Toured this museum with another couple and was blown away by the variety of this collection. Nearly everything there is in operating condition, not just static display. They have an incredible collection of cars, planes, motorcycles and tractors, something for everyone. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable about nearly every display. One of the best times is to go when... More

Thank you for reviewing. Our Second Saturday events are typically when we get the collection out and running but every once in a while we just can't help it and have a bonus action day. The best way to know what is going on at any point in time is to check out the museum's Facebook page or the news... More

If you are a fan of antique planes and cars, along with an assortment of other antique and not so antique items, this is a stop you do not want to miss. Amazingly, the vehicles and planes are kept in working order and on the 2nd Saturday of the month, you will see some of them in action. One not-so-old... More

Thank you for the review. While most of WAAAM's displayed items are part of the permanent collection occasionally we display some other cool things too. The "Rat Rod" in question was the winner of the National Blue Collar Build Off and was built by local Hood River residents (and a few WAAAM volunteers). Even though most other things in the... More

Very impressive collection of planes, cars and a few motorcycles, and most of them work! Also some interesting uniforms, headsets, pillow cases, photos, etc. The Fly-In in September is awesome!

Thank you for reviewing. While WAAAM is most known for it's expansive collection of airplanes, cars, and motorcycles, the additional transportation history represented in a wide variety of objects are also very interesting. There is a ton of stuff to take in at the museum and if visitors show up during a special event like the Annual Hood River Fly-In... More

So fun - what a great place with a great way to view it all. I grew up on airbases and have to say this was so fun to get so close and just walk around a great assembly of planes and vehicles. An unexpected surprise (thanks Trip Advisor!) for some free time we had in Hood River.

Thank you for the review. Our visitors love being able to get a close up look at the collection's still operable icons of the past. Many who have grown up around old cars or airplanes even say that the place "smells right." More
