A well organized and amazingly diverse collection of automobiles and airplanes. The greatest part is they all run and fly. http://www.waaamuseum.org/ Try and hit it on the second Saturday of the month when they take out the cars, planes and motorcyles and fire them up, drive them and fly them around. Living history at its finest!! A must see!!!!

Thank you for the review. As often as we tell people nearly all the airplanes still fly and the cars still drive - it is another thing entirely to see it with your own eyes (because sometimes youtube videos and the photos on our website just don't cut it.). We are glad you enjoyed the WAAAM brand of living history. More

A well made living display of antique airplanes and older automobiles. Some of the cars are antiques but some are just older cars, like 50's, 60's and beyond. All in all the museum was a great historical and very informative display.

Thanks for reviewing. We like to consider our non-antique cars "classic cars" - many people who visit enjoy the trip down memory land and our culture is getting to the point where not everyone can remember ever seeing a Model T in use. That reason is also a big part of why we at WAAAM keep our airplanes and automobiles... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our museum visit and appreciated how much work, effort and money went into planning and staging the exhibits. They offered a 10% discount off gift shop purchases if you found all the exhibits noted in the scavenger hunt - a game that made our visit more fun. We saw planes and cars neither of us had ever... Thank you for reviewing. We always have fun seasonal deals going on around the museum. Sometimes it's something you can only find out about by going to the museum - other times those with an eye on our facebook or newsletter can score some kind of promotion. It always pays off to keep your eyes peeled! More

Flew in on a nice day, what a great museum! I only had three hours to spend so I rushed it and did not get to see everything that I wanted to. But I will be back!

Thank you for reviewing. One of the nice things about WAAAM is that it is right near the Hood River Airport (or Ken Jernstedt Field depending on who you ask). This makes it really convenient for the museum to fly its antique airplanes but also a great destination point if you're out flying for fun. More

Great museum. It is big! So big, you should plan one spending an entire day to see all of it! Many vintage aircraft, vintage and antique car, and motorcycles too.

Thanks for reviewing. Here at WAAAM we know just how big our just-over-two-and-a-half-acres of collection is. That's why when you get your ticket it is good for the entire day. Come and go as many times as you want and we wont stop you until we lock the doors and close at 5:00pm. More

We've taken our family and visitors here and found new and different things to look at on each visit. We love hearing the stories from the tour guides. It's takes you back in time. What a collection!

Thank you for the review. Glad you enjoyed your visit. While there are many fun activities to do in the Columbia River Gorge, WAAAM really shines when you are trying to show off to out-of-towners. WAAAM is a sure bet for anyone who enjoys antique airplanes and automobiles but the other side displays can find a way to engage just... More

Unexpectedly able to stop at this attraction in rainy, damp dreary Hood River on a Saturday afternoon. Figured we'd spend maybe an hour, then get back on the road. Wrong! We stayed 3+ hours and that wasn't nearly enough for us. Lots 'n lots 'n lots of aircraft, autos, motorcycles, just about any motorized means of transportation dating back to... More

Thank you very much for the review. You've really summed up what we are all about at the museum! You're correct in saying that about 99% of the collection is still flyable and still drivable - that's why we have our Second Saturday events to show off a little bit of living history. Of the small fraction of the collection... More

I took my WW2 Vet grandfather there in May. He absolutely loved it and said it was one of the best days of his life. He loved seeing the old war relics and got enjoyment in telling me stories. He died in June but thanks to this place he was able to enjoy the past one more time.

Thank you for reviewing and sharing your story with us. One of our favorite things about WAAAM's collection is when folks who have lived through the history these cars and planes represent have the opportunity to share what life was like back then. We're glad that you had the opportunity you had with your grandfather. Our sincere condolences. More

I live in the Hood River Valley but still go to the WAAM museum about once a year. They do different exhibits and make it fresh from now and then and have an excellent kid play area they they are adding too right now. It is a bit expensive to get in the door but if you have an afternoon... More

Thank you for the review. We love changing the collection around because people get to notice all new things about the museum - that is the beauty of such a large collection. As for the food, we serve food during our major events such as the Annual Hood River Fly-In, the Traffic Jam, and our Second Saturday events. More

This was such a great surprise. Small enough to get through if you're pressed for time, but if you have more time, it's a great way to spend the morning. Very informative and helpful staff and there were so many rare and interesting pieces here. Just loved it.

Thanks for the review. We've got a wide variety of transportation history packed into the museum so we recommend a baseline of one and a half hours for a quick view of the museum. We've had some passionate visitors stay all day long but the average is usually between one and three hours. More
