I took a weekend trip to Hood River and I saw WAAAM as an attraction of things to do in the area. Airplanes and cars were not really anything I had been into but I figured I might as well check it out. However after going to WAAAM I now have a total different outlook on them. We went on... More

Thank you for reviewing. For some folks, transportation history seems obtuse and out there but here at WAAAM we do our best to have visitors understand what they are seeing so that they do not get overwhelmed by the size of the collection. As an added bonus, having a still-operational collection helps bring the place alive too. More

Took a family day trip to hood river and stopped here first. It was perfect! There are so many awesome things to look at and the play room in the back for kids was heaven for my son

Thanks for the review. It is important for us to try an impart in kids an appreciation for all the "old stuff" found in the museum. Our interactive learning center is a great way to help engage them in experiencing first hand some of the odd quirks that come with the technology of the past. More

Friends told us about this museum and we are so glad we listened to them. It is a delight! Lots of great old planes, motorcycle, automobiles, bicycles and more. We spent several hours and we will return. Great for all ages. They actually take a lot of these planes, autos and motorcycles out once in awhile. Check out their website... More

We had a day to kill and saw a flier for this museum. What a great choice. The volunteers were well informed and had a great enthusiasm for the collection. And what a collection it is. Great cars, trucks, planes and several other categories that you wouldn't expect. Long story short, worth the price of admission.

Thanks for the review. Here at WAAAM we do our best to have something that can engage anyone and everyone - fortunately transportation history is a very big topic so we can have a large number of interesting side items in addition to our airplanes and automobiles. More

Thank you for the review. We love showing off our living history on the Second Saturday of every month. It is one thing to know nearly all of the WAAAM collection still drives and still flies but another thing entirely to see it with your own eyes and experience the action for yourself. More

Great museum. Great people. All the planes are still flying and autos still drive able. These people are so talented at rebuilding and keeping these machines going. We started in portland and drove the old Columbia river road, stopped to see numerous waterfalls, had lunch in hood river, spent the afternoon at the museum and did a local wine tasting... More

Thank you for the review. We love keeping our airplanes and automobiles in flying and driving condition because it helps people appreciate the history a bit more. It takes a lot less imagination to think about history (or driving from Portland to Hood River on the old highway) when you know what it is like to ride in a Model... More

Thank you for reviewing. On the Second Saturday of every month we fly and drive our collection. Amazing old Planes and Cars. $14 adult fee to enter. Plenty of docents to answer your questions. WAAAM is branching out to old artifacts. We went for 2 hours on a rainy afternoon. It was not enough time. They have at least 3 barns.

Thanks for the review. We love showing people transportation history - this includes not only our airplanes and automobiles but also the associated artifacts that people would have brought with them, made an impact on their travels, or enabled them to get out there and enjoy the road or sky even more. Our old artifacts are part of what help... More

Open for about seven years, dozens and dozens of antique planes, automobiles, model airplanes, motorcycles and all of them working!. You may see a sign that says "Out for a drive" when they take a car out. Over two acres, enclosed, all mixed together. Clean, easy to get around, fascinating to see the various cars, trucks, planes and more. The... More

Thank you for reviewing. One of the neat things about having a living history museum full of airplanes and automobiles is when they get to go out and get a little exercise. This usually happens during one of our Second Saturday events but every once in a while we just can't pass up the chance. More
