There are not enough words to describe the awesomeness that is Marie. From her prompt pick up of me and my friend at our downtown Portland hotel to the superb tastings and perfectly assembled crudite platters for cleansing our palate and taming our tummies, I simply can not sing Marie's praises as a wine sherpa enough. The love and dedication... More

What a day, what a guy! Fred was prompt in picking us up from our rented cottage in Willamette Valley. After giving us a 10 minute crash course in willamette wine/soil/geography, we hit the road and enjoyed tastings at four different vineyards over the 6 hours we spent together. We probably could have made it to one more but Fred... More

From the moment you meet Fred Gunton, you know you are in for a special day. Fred will pick you up in a nice van and will bring you to many "hidden gem" wineries throughout the Willamette. Wineries that you might not have known about had your not met him. His knowledge and expertise of the geology and morphology of... More

Fred is a very good tour guide and generous with providing us with a wide variety of cheeses, crackers, and fruit as we traveled around beautiful Oregon wine country! He is very knowledgeable about wines and the local vineyards; he was quite helpful catering to our individual needs. Our group believed his tour to be the best of our trip!

I feel very fortunate that I happened upon "A Nose for Wine" through Trip Advisor. Our day with Fred Gunton was very relaxed and enjoyable. I felt like we were traveling through beautiful Willamette Valley with a friend, rather than a guide. Certainly he was knowledgable and informative but mainly he was fun and friendly. And, it was obvious that... More

We had a wonderful tour last September, with Marie Gunton and have stayed in touch since. She was kind enough to procure another case of our favorites and ship them to Wisconsin for us this April. That's the best service ever. I would highly recommend "A Nose for Wine" to anyone heading to Oregon. Ann and Joanna Rouse

Fred was the perfect tour guide. Very knowledgable about the area, the wines and the wineries. Very open to answering questions - no matter how dumb! We felt like we got VIP treatment at a number of the wineries. Lot's of personalization based on tastes - and we were surprised that he had googled us before we arrived for the... More

I'm glad you were able to meet and talk with some owners and feel the passion that lives in Oregon's wine community. And...with that rainbow crowning the day after chatting with the states most "famous grape grower"...Touché indeed~ (you two were so fun..Thanks for coming to Oregon!) More

My husband and I visited Willamette Valley for a day/night on our honeymoon trip in October. I had researched Fred for several months and was very excited to experience our winery tour day. It was wonderful! We were picked up at our B&B in McMinnville and had a private transfer to all of our wineries. We visited 4 wineries. He... More

I took my second wine tour with Marie, this time bringing my daughter, daughter-in-law and her mother along, and it was just as nice as the first one! She is so informative, very accommodating, and brings great snacks along to pair with the wines. She made recommendations for dinner, and even made our reservations for two nights. I would definitely... More

We already knew that we loved Oregon Pinots, but we had yet to learn how much we were going to fall in love with Miss Marie! Arranged in advance to celebrate my birthday, my husband and Marie planned a wonderful day of wine tasting for me and 5 family members! She was a highlight of our visit, with fun banter,... More
