I'd skip it another time

This is a monument, a historical piece of Oregon. It is Geisel Monument State HERITAGE SITE. SITE! Not theme park, not safari, not shopping center. What do people expect when they see the word site? Disneyland? No go to cali if you want that. This is more than just some ride at a park or a french fry in your... More

This place is pretty much only a lawn area, picnic table and graveyard. There is nothing to do there except maybe a place to stretch your legs and have a picnic. Don't plan a day or a trip around it

Either we did not find the real Geisel Monument, in which case better signage is certainly needed, or the monument is simply a family grave site. It was not worth the drive to get there.

Care of foliage and quite-tude. It was nice... but only go if you are near the area. It is a bit off the beaten track, and its a sad story.

If you like local history, you will find this interesting! A monument to early pioneers who lived and died there.

Trying to decide which Gold Beach attractions to see on out way to Coos Bay is not a tough decision as there as so few; however, we did stop by for 15 minutes to view this graveyard and historical site. I would not have done it had I know how limited this very small site is and it's narrow focus.... More

I do not know why this is on the maps, but it is a small graveyard with nothing to see. Don't bother.

no tourists, there are no rides, food booths or gift shops. but it's an incredible piece of oregon's history. if you want to know what happened to the wife & daughter, stop by the curry county museum in town.

This is one of those hole in the wall parks that, doesn't really do anything for ya. The grass is pretty uneven, and has a lot of stickers in it everywhere, to make the pets get covered, and the kids bare feet hurt. Not much to it, a gravesite for the Geisel family, and a picnic table. If you don't... More

This small day use park is located a few miles north of Gold Beach on the west side of the highway. It is *not* suitable for any large RVs, but small motorhomes should be okay. I was disappointed by this little park. It's designated a "State Heritage Site", but there are no informational signs to tell a visitor what exactly... More
