This is a place that gives you the peace of knowing that your surrounding are completely untouched. A true glimpse of nature. Crystal clear water and abundant foliage are the stars here. Wonderful places to take a swim and sunbath..hayack or raft along in peaceful setting

Beautiful scenery and worth the drive. We saw this where it merged with the Rouge River. Gorgeous. We drove up to see the little town of Agnes, not much to see but a quaint little general store.

Not much water in the river now but it's still beautiful. Head to the Oak Flat Campground and walk up the trail a bit. Fun place to visit to hit the river.

My husband and I drove up the rogue and up the Illinois as far as the road would take us. There is an overlook where we watched buzzards eating a dead fish and then drove down into the campground area along the river. Was happily surprised to find a bathroom! There was only one other vehicle there with nobody in... More

Here's a quiet place on the river away from the boat traffic. Enjoy the warm sun and rest on the gravel bars. Float in the cool moving river water. It is away from the masses. I was just sad that there wasn't much water in our ongoing drought.

After a visit to Oregon Caves our group of 6 were looking for a place to swim on a hot afternoon. We stumbled upon a perfect swimming hole just before a small waterfall off of Eight Dollar Road between Selma and Cave Junction. This Illinois River location was perfect. Park in a small camping area and follow your nose on... More

Spent 4 days at a primitive N.F. campground at the end of the road along the river from Selma and had a great time. Lots of sunshine and wildflowers. Miami Bar is a suberb little beach. We saw a bald eagle, lots of butterflies and a swimming snake there. Nice hikes in the area, too. Road gets rough near the... More

This is a beautiful and underused site tucked away, but very convenient to the main highway through the Illinois Valley (Cave Junction). There are picnic and restroom facilities, but alas the State Park system is about to give up maintenance.

This is one of the most beautiful rivers in Southern Oregon. Sometimes the kids disrespect it by not cleaning up their garbage, but the state works hard to keep up. It is beautiful and the water is an incredible Emerald Green. Great swim holes. Just watch the sankes in the summer.
