There are dinner train rides and special events. We took the basic ride between two coastal towns; 1/2 hour one way from Garibaldi to Rockaway Beach (or visa versa), 1/2 hour rest at the town, 1/2 hour ride back. The waterway, ocean, inlet views are beautiful and peaceful. You pass by a town in which many of the cottage-like homes... More

What a pleasure! Restored historic railroad runs right along the beautiful bay, stopping long enough to see the beach in Rockaway and get some salt water taffy or an ice cream cone - an absolute pleasure every time we have stopped! If you are traveling from Rockaway to Garibaldi, there is a Dairy Queen in Garibaldi for the stop-over ice... More

We enjoyed our scenic train ride from Garibaldi to Rockaway Beach. Our 2 year old daughter has been into trains and wanting to ride one and this was her first train ride. While a little short, it was perfect for her. Loved the open-air cars.

We had never taken the train ride, but had our motorhome group in town, so this looked like a good outing, everyone enjoyed the trip.

We had a beautiful day for a train ride. Highly recommend the open air car, out in the sun. People along the way are very friendly. Hope my GoPro video turns out. Next time we will spend more time in Rockaway Beach.

Train was not working the day before we were scheduled to take a trip..understand that this can happen with older historic trains but the weather was beautiful and it would have been a great trip. Did it several years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it

I was vacationing with friends who are huge train buffs. We came from Portland to ride this train. We planned it as part of our vacation. Ticket prices are reasonable, the staff are friendly and very chatty. You can ride in the covered open air car, inside, or out in the sun. The trip is a lot of fun, bring... More

This train takes a short trip up the coast with wonderful ocean views and then veers inland up the river. I went in fall and colors were very good for Oregon which is mostly green all year. A nice stop in Rockaway allows time for a snack and ice cream cone. Travels behind a vintage steam engine famous for staring... More

CHUG! CHUG! What a treat! Please do not miss this vintage Oregon Coast attraction. Even though the steam-engine ride between Garibaldi and Rockaway Beach is only one and one-half hours round trip, traveling next to the Pacific and across jetties is a thrill. Nostalgically, the dining and club cars are time-warped right out of the 1920-1930s. Added touches like old-fashioned... More
