This past Saturday we headed over to Forest Grove to do some wine tasting with our daughter, her husband and infant granddaughter and 18 month old grandson. David Hill is the perfect winery for a picnic so we packed some crab sandwiches and other goodies and spent a couple of hours there eating, relaxing and enjoy the excellent wines. The... More

we visited several winery's in Forest grove and this one was one of our favorites Host was very knowledgeable about the wines and the making process. The view outside was amazing . The vineyards and the trees and mountains were a very serene Atmosphere. The wine was great had to get a few bottles to go. The view is free... More

This was the third and final stop on our tasting day, and it was a beautiful and relaxing stop. We had previously gone to Oak Knoll winery in rural Hillsboro and Sake One (the nation's only Sake distillery) in Forrest Grove. The three of these are within very easy driving distance. David Hill had excellent but higher priced wine than... More

We visited David Hill Winery. The views from the property are just amazing. Their wine is too! The Chardonnay is enjoyable even for those who typically don't like Chardonnay. Not oakey, but very light and buttery. The Pinot Noirs were all excellent. Be sure to try the port, honey and apricot flavors abound.

This was a fitting last stop on our independent wine tour. Such a beautiful hillside location in Forest Grove. Rather than taste in the cute tasting room, we opted to purchase a glass and enjoy it on a picnic table in the expansive and shady lawn just outside. They have some of the oldest vines in the valley, dating from... More

Great wine. Awesome views and fantastic people. There is a tasting fee if you are not a wine club member. Close to town - maybe 5 to 10 minutes.

David Hill Winery has the oldest Pinot Noir vines in Oregon on site. Their "BlackJack" Pinot is a seriously great wine. They make a Tempranillo with Rogue valley grapes that is excellent and the Chardonnay is wonderful too. The farmhouse is inviting and the grounds provide some great picnic spots. Always buy something if your want to have a picnic... More

Nestled back behind the little burg of Forest Grove, but a fairly short drive from the city, this delightful stop was quite memorable. The wine tasting fee was waived with our purchase, and we even got a little anniversary gift (luscious chocolates)! The wines were light in taste, and the Gewurztatraminer especially was very nice. Appetizer plate available for purchase.There... More

Last Saturday we did some wine tasting in Forest Grove. This was our first visit to David HIll Winery and we were very impressed with the quality of the wines there and the beautiful setting and friendly, accomodating staff. We arrived near closing time and chose a table for two with views of the vineyards in the lovely, immaculatey clean... More

I visited this winery when they first opened 10 years ago. It was very laid back and personal then, it is more so now. The room was crowded but the staff made sure there was room for us. They talked about the wines, were friendly and helpful. This is a stop I will make again.
