From the outside this seems like your normal tourist trap. And it is simply what it says it is a view into a sea lion cave. You will go down, you will marvel at the sea lions, watch them frolick in the water and then come back up. However it is still amazing! You see them in their natural habitat... more

Wow! Sea Lions stink! Took a ride down a shaft elevator to an underground cave. If you're clausterphobic, don't go! It smelled so bad in there and the lions were so loud. Would rather have seen them from the beach then in an enclosed area. Cool for kids who don't get out much or see wildlife that close. Not worth... more

My husband and I have been to Sea Lion Caves a couple times, but always in the spring or summer. It was neat but kind of disappointing, we had never seen more than a handful of sea lions. Well, let me tell you, you gotta go in the WINTER! The cave was FULL of sea lions in mid-December. FULL! There... more

The Sea Lion Caves pull off the double feat of being an old-fashioned seaside tourist attraction and a large, natural habitat for wonderful animals. This huge cave has been a sea lion habitat for centuries if not more; the area from which you view them is pretty non-intrusive to the animals (unless some doofus uses a flash to try to... more

Sea Lion Caves is a neat place to see but could use some improving. First of all you all must know that you may or may not get to see the Sea lions after you make the smelly adventure down there it kinda just depends on the time of day and season. My biggest concern is the parking. You have... more

I have vacationed on the Oregon coast for more summers than I can count, but my parents never took me to the Sea Lion Caves as a child. Now that I'm all grown up and married, I took my husband up to the coast for the first time and thought we would check it out. We went in December and... more

i am not usually one for seemingly cheezy tourist attractions or attractions that exploit animals, but i had never seen a sea lion up close before so i wanted to check it out. i was very happy to see that the area had been carfully layed out so not to disrupt the natural habitat and coming and goings of the... more

Since I am known for picking some pretty odd places to visit, my husband was pleasantly surprised with this one. Like the other review, the one thing they don't warn you about is the smell! The minute you get shut into the elevator for the 200 foot ride, you're painfully aware of it. There are exhibits and a short film... more

The Sea Lion Caves is exactly what it sounds like - a large sea cave filled with hundreds of sea lions. Purchase tickets from the gift shop up top, get a photo with the sea lion statue and then take an elevator down through the rock to the viewing area. There is a large window where you can watch the... more
