great local beer

up and coming microbrewery offers really yummy beers, especially IPA's. In the funky Whitaker neighborhood that has several good dining and entertainment options.

I attended the Oregon Governor's Conference on tourism dinner here earlier this week. What a great venue for that dinner and lots of beverages. The facility is extremely clean, everywhere. The food was all catered in, but the beer was great with lots of variety. Ninkasi, which is early Sumarian for fermentation or something like that, has exploded in the... More

I was in Eugene to visit family and had yet to go to the brewery. I was not disappointed! Went on a tour and it was a lot of fun! Only bummer is that you don't get any free tastings with the tour, but the beers are reasonably priced, starting at only $3! The staff were all very friendly and... More

I am so surprised by the reviews of this brewery after our experience last September. The staff (younger female with dreadlocks and young male) could not have cared less about our experience. It was as if we were bothering them by taking them away from their phones. The merch was really cool but unfortunately the beer really bland and tasted... More

Ninkasi brews all their beers in house, there's one to cater to everyone's liking. The atmosphere was astounding, they have mostly patio seating with fire pits covered picnic tables and outdoor heaters, there is no smoking allowed, so you have to go out the front gate to partake in cigarettes, indoors there is a small bar area and all the... Ninkasi is always a fun place to stop in Eugene. Of course the beers are great, but the crowd is almost always sociable and makes Ninkasi a fun place to grab a beer with friends. The outdoor patio is very accommodating and has fire pits to gather around when it's cool out.

This place is literally located in a residential area with many restaurants within a short walk. This is the actual place they make the beer and they give walking tours and sell their labeled souvenirs. The highlight is their tasting room. A nice cozy indoor space to buy some fresh brewed suds. The bartender was really cool. Not only did... More

Nice hangout spot. I'm visiting the area so I tried a flight of the beers, five of the ten on tap. Not a super fan of the beers but beer is subjective. Cool, chill place.

Not that old, but quickly becoming an iconic Eugene spot. That is a good thing. Breweries were rare in Eugene during my student days in the 1990's, so to see them popping up now, especially one like Ninkasi, makes me a little wistful. But I now have a place to go for football days. Ninkasi has great beer, but they... More

We popped in, as our first stop in Eugene, to try a couple of brews. We were not disappointed! Excellently crafted beers with a good selection. Service was efficient and the Sammitch cart outside is a quirky treat for organic specialities and items like the orgasmitch! A great place to stop, eat simple food and drink good quality beer!
