The Willamette river starts with snow melt in the Cascades and is full of trout as well as steelhead during the fall season. It's clear water and scenic beauty well known. We grew up camping on the "upper" Willamette near Oakridge as children and return every summer with our kids. In Eugene THE River runs thro ugh town, and is... More

There are tons of great opportunities to see the Willamette River in Eugene, from eating dinner at Sweetwaters or the North Bank to exercising on the river path. The DeFazio and Autzen foot-bridges are particularly impressive, though. It's awesome that a city the size of Eugene has as many non-automotive crossings as they do. Floating the river is even better,... More

The Willamette river is one of the attractions in Eugene. It adds a beauty and grace and outdoor opportunity that is a rare and welcome beauty. Some of the restaurants on the North side of town have eiver view seating which is absolutely wonderful on a sunny Oregon DAY!

Enjoyed the walking trails along side this gorgeous body of water. We could have spent all day here enjoying the shear beauty of this wonderful river.

I went floating down the Willamette with about 6 classmates. The majority of the river was clean and pretty shallow. There wasn't a lot of current neat the EWEB building so we had to paddle A LOT. Still it was a fun thing to do on a hot day in Eugene.

Our family recently floated about 5 miles ending up at Harrisburg. It was a hot day and it was nice on the water. Just pull up on a gravel bar and cool down whenever you want. There are spots where the wind makes floating a challenge. In other words you do have to paddle.

There is a nice walk or park path along the river, walk into a rose garden, walk across the foot path to visit an enclosed mall. Nicely done recreation area.

Hey, it is pretty - it winds - it is made of water. It flows. it has banks. What's not to like? Really, how would you possible give a river a bad review?
