If you're a runner, you've got to run Pre's trail. It's historic, beautiful, and relaxing. It's a great 4.2 mile loop that always goes by quickly. The bark surface is well-maintained.

Ran this at first light it was a bit trick in the near dark. But felt like I was on sacred ground. Very cool. Worth the effort.

This trail is beautiful during the fall. I find it easy to navigate. I think it's iconic also. Especially given it's namesake.

It was a block behind our Best Western hotel and was wonderful to run on the trail and substrate he preferred. The kids got a kick running where Pre had.

So fun to trace Steve Prefontaine's footsteps in his University of Oregon days. The trail was wood chips in some places and paved in others. Beautiful scenery along the route. I kept making wrong moves to hit the inner and outer loops correctly but I did the best I could!! Crosses a river at one point. Tons to see while... More

Great trail that is clearly marked out and runs you through a lovely park along the river also. Got a good 6 miles in on the wood chip path that is compacted to make it easier to run on. It was a treat to run there in memory of Pre.

We were excited to walk and run on this trail. It is scenic and the wood chips are great on your joints. Loved to be able to run/walk on this historic trail honoring Steve Prefontaine.

I walk this trail almost every day, it never gets old. Walking along the canal last night just at sunset we were serenaded by red wing black birds as they sang back and forth to each other. Ducks from the canal walk up into the Chevy Chase area in the spring and make nests. So much to see. Now if... More

This path is closed to bikes, it is quiet and flat. It is such a nice surface to run on...amazing. Soft on the knees, but firm enough to not be spongy.
