I went with several of my friends on the Samson on a Saturday morning at 7 am to fish for ling cod and rock fish. We ended up leaving about 7:40 Three of my friends had flown in from out of town for this trip. We finally got out to the first reef and did a drift around 8:10. We... More

We had a nice sunny day for viewing. Most of the grays and orcas where off in the distance until a gray surfaced right next to the boat ! The crew was most helpful getting my handicap husband on and off the boat. This charter company is situated such that there are no stairs to get to the boat.

As a commercial fisherman in Alaska for 29 years I could not believe that Dockside Charters skippers CHICKENED OUT and decided to pull the plug on all of us 15 guys that were all excited to go fishing that morning of April 1st on charter vessel (SAMSON). We sat down at Dockside Charters office along with skippers and I personally... More

Boat was clean and the crew members were very friendly. We had a fun time on the trip but we didn't see any whales the day we went out which was a total bummer. The price for the trip was reasonable and I would recommend.

Whale... we for sure didn't see any whales! Obviously they can't force whales to come be seen on these trips, however they took us out when the water was so choppy even if there were whales out, we probably wouldn't have been able to spot them. It was very windy outside and we all got soaked because the waves were... More

For the other place, you either have to climb a few flights of stairs or take a shuttle. The 50 character requirement is a waste of time, so even though I could review numerous other places in Gleneden Beach, i'm not going to bother.

The best part was leaving and entering the harbor - lovely photos of the highway bridge and a friendly harbor seal greeting! Our trip was just before sundown, which was also beautiful, but made picture-taking of the whales difficult. Maybe if I had a bigger, better camera! Can't beat the price for a one hour ocean ride to see the... More

We went out on the boat and although it was very windy out on the water the capital, Lars, did a great job. We only saw the whales blowing out in the distance and the back of one whale. We will try again.

We had a marvelous experience with a great skipper at the helm. We saw lots of whale activity and it was a thrill to share this with my grandsons on our very first meeting last August, 2013. Looking forward to trying the Zodiac trip next time, get even more up close and personal!

Our whale watching experience with Captain Gary Stephenson was wonderful. With resident whales that stay in the area year round, the captain found whales within sight of the harbor. We spent our whole 90 minute tour watching the whales play. Captain Gary steered so the photographers could get the proper lighting in their pictures. Local stories and abundant knowledge were...
