Primitive roads and trails wind through the woods, large trees, ferns, wetlands, quiet, wildlife all close to Corvallis. My boys train here for cross country, I hike here, dog friendly, well kept, the local crowd is respectful and keeps the area clean. Love this place.

It's our quick getaway place when we want a nice forest walk. Love the old growth trail and the ridge trail.

I run, hike, and bike here every week. Lovely place. Plenty of oid growth and nice second growth, Great views at hill tops. Also a good place to see high quality clear-cuts and forestry, which supports the OSU College of Forestry.

Hike, bike, run, take the kids, take the dog. A great place to go in Corvallis at either the Oak Creek access, Soap Creek Saddle or Peavy Arboretum.

I live near McDonald Forest, so the convenience is perfect. Even if I didn't live here, I would come here for hiking on a regular basis. I am a weekly hiker and I often do the 7-mile loop or the hike up to Dimple Hill. Any time of the year, this is the perfect place to enjoy the beauty of... More

Corvallis' hidden gem is OSU's McDonald Research Forrest. There are tons of gravel roads and sweet technical single-tracks to enjoy. Lots of solitude, and occasional wildlife. If you haven't been to McCulloch peak (2150 ft elev.) and you live in Corvallis, you're missing out.
