On my trip to oregon, i came through the gorge area and it was alright! Rooster rock just happened to be along the river so i stopped there and drove all the way down to the east end parking area. There were tons of cars, but not many people! We walked down into a kind of swampy area which wasn't... More

This state park is on the Columbia River. We love to take our boat out to one of the Islands and the boat launch area at Rooster Rock is perfect. On a warm day, 100's of boats utilize the ramp and it always seems to be quite friendly :)

This is a lovely park, however they will charge a person to get in just to use the bathrooms. It is at the western end of a long trip down I-84 and would be a convenient stop, but to be charged for staying only a few minutes seems unfair to us old folks!!!!

There is all kinds of excitement in Oregon. I am never surprised! This park however has a "nude beach" so there is alot of behinds running around without their bathing suit bottoms! It's all good and enjoyable for the sun bathers. Bathing suits are optional however and lots of folks take advantage of this! Did not experiance any weirdness at... More

This is a nice state park with a nice picnic area and beach front to the Columbia River. However, there is an active group of nudists who park their boats about a half mile south of the main park. If you have kids who like to wander away, they may get an eyeful of the sun worshipers.

This a a swimming/beach located right on the beautiful Columbia River. But, beware, they do have a nude section.

It is mostly a nude beach which is not my style. Although it is an attractive area the fact that it is a nude beach keeps me from visiting there again.

The Columbia river gorge scenic area gives wide views both up and down the Columbia river. A place to picnic or enjoy a relaxing day in the sun.(during July-Sept.) Great spot!

If you live close to his area and want to save a lot of time driving to the coast for any outdoor activity then pick this place instead...It has an appeal of the ocean beaches but a feel of a regular picnic ground around you...It is efficiently suitable for any small to a large group activity...This is the only park... Good for families and picnicing on the Columbia river. Good boat launch. When the water is down and you can reach the sand island the beaches are perfect for skinny dipping. No worries, you will be among hundreds!
