Perfect spot for picture taking. Travel the road the first drivers of the HCRH drove in the 1920's Stop in the gift shop and get a little something for someone back home.

The reason I don't give this an excellent is the roads are not in the best of shape getting there. The weather is tough on them and are in constant need of care, other than that beautiful.

But for the view including the Vista House, go to the Women's Forum overlook a mile west. Inside the Vista House are old photos from the gorge, and beautiful decorations. Definitely worth a stop.

Good stop with visitors. Photo ops galore and great gift shop. Hold onto your hats.... the wind can be wild.

The view from here is that picture postcard you see of the Gorge. Very Beautiful, but frequently windy and cold. Not a bad idea to go on a very warm day, but if it isn't and you're pressed for time, go anyway. You can always warm up with coco in the tiny tower gift shop, and the view is worth... More

This majestic house was originally a road stop on the way between the west to Multnomah Falls and Portland. If you park and can't go inside, there are panoramic views to be had and filmed on the edges of the property.Windy, sunny or rainy I find it to have a mystique of its own. Even dusk and twilight make beautiful... More

We stopped here as part of our drive along the Columbia Gorge Historic Highway. Unfortunately due to the time of the day (early morning) the House was closed however we enjoyed a quick stop to take in the superb views offered from here down the River below.

This is one of the best views of the Columbia river and gorge west of the cascades. The turn off is well marked. Your car climbs from river level to a high overlook from which stunning views cover both directions.

Spectacular views of the Columbia River Gorge. Sky, mountains and the mighty river. A great finish to a day viewing waterfalls.

This is a very nice place to stop for 15-30 min to make pictures. Sometimes they have nice presentations in the Vista House.
