The Coaster Theatre Playhouse has entertained thousands of visitors and locals of Cannon Beach and Oregon's North Coast. Maurie Clark opened the Coaster Theatre in 1972. He supported it with his time, talent and financial resources. Upon his death in 2001, the Coaster Theatre became a not-for-profit theatre. Each year the Coaster Theatre produces 5 plays and 2 musicals as well as inspiring young actors with our Coaster Kidz spring, summer and winter camps. With the support of our wonderful volunteers, sponsors, donors and patrons we will continue to offer quality community theatre in the heart of Cannon Beach.

This is a great little theater company that works hard to bring entertainment to a quaint costal community. They are friendly, their theater is well maintained, and it is definitely worth a stop while visiting the area.

The theatre is well set up with comfortable seating. The play we saw was 39 Steps and was not to our liking, but that is personal taste. The staff who run it were great. You can call ahead and reserve seating or do it when you are in town.

I am amazined that Coaster Theatre, under the direction of Patrick, continues to put out such quality performances with a volunteer cast. Don't miss it!

Cannon Beach is a very small, but spectacular destination both for its natural beauty along with incredible local talent and devotion to both present and past. We always try to attend a show at the coaster theatre whenever we're in town -- and have never been disappointed!

Farcical take on 39 Steps which was a delightful production. Great little theatre, hard-working talented actors. Great cookies at intermission!

It's always fun to watch community theater. It wasn't the greatest acting or singing....not broadway, but worth supporting

My daughter and I spontaneously got tickets for the theater. Such fun! Good choice of play, great actors. So fun to be able to watch sunset, have a bit to eat, then go to the theater. And right on the beach!

This is definitely local theater, a step up from the junior high school play, but the adults involved try hard and recently did a reasonable performance of Into the Woods. Just don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed. It is actually great to have a theater in a beach community like this.
