We had some good experiences renting boards early and really enjoyed surfing with their foam boards. The owner was very nice to us and made us feel welcome. However, on our last attempt we were treated with far less respect by his staff members. We were verbally attacked after some poor communication between the smug staff members. Being in our mid-30s, we decided to try surfing to see if we really are officially too old to try new things. Turns out, we're not! We called Cannon Beach Surf to arrange lessons, and were told that they offer semi-private lessons, meaning that you have one instructor for no more than three students.
