Great place to see how the rivers get stocked with fish. We can't wait to bring the grand kids. Be sure and bring some quarters for the fish food machines. They are fun.

This is a great family spot. Walk among the outdoor fish ponds and see the fingerlings getting ready for release. Bring plenty of quarters so that the kids can get fish food to throw into the ponds and see the fish feeding.
by Camp Sherman standards the Fish Hatchery is the best family entertainment available. Children love the close-up views of the hatchery-raised trout, and feeding the fish with the food available (for a fee) is always a kid-pleaser. Even the most jaded teenager has been known to drop the mask of feigned boredom. Staff often offers impromptu presentations.

This is where I take my niece and nephew when they are in the area. Fish hatchery is exciting for the kids. A couple of things to note. Took a teenager and toddler to this hatchery and both had a wonderful time (as did the adults!) We spent some time talking to one of the workers who gave us an impromptu tour. Worth the visit as there are various hiking trails nearby (very easy).
Many families have taken several generations of children to view this process. Setting is spectacular. Crossing the bridge (one lane) with a view of the river rushing through a channel created by lava has blue water like you hardly ever see.
This place is spartan, but it was fun feeding the fish with kids. Also saw a bald eagle hanging out atop a tree nearby. If you're staying in/near Camp Sherman with kids this is worth a visit.
We visit this place every year. It is always fun to feed the fish and sit by the pond on a nice day.
There are Sturgeon! There's ice all around the parking lot and the pond, but once you get down to the river, of course it's beautiful. I did pick up some trash, and fished a Jim Beam bottle out of the bank of the river, but otherwise, very nice.
Fun for whole family. Feed the fish, some are huge! Great picnic spot under the incense cedars. If you're lucky you can see otter and eagles near the pond. Great bike destination from in Camp Sherman with drinking water and bathrooms. Great any time of year.
