Two Lighthouses Now

From the jetty, one can now see two homes with lighthouses in Brookings. The original one is the larger of the two, and to the left of the newer one.

This lighthouse surprised me as to it's location. It's worth the trip to see it and not at all hard to find. Easy to get pics. Not a Lighthouse you can visit but you can take all the pics you want from different angles. I would upload some but not sending this from my laptop.

Its very easy to get a look at the "Lighthouse right from the Habor parking lot. Pretty cool looking. Would be nice to be able to catch the inside sometime at one of the events.

We have been taking pictures of all the lighthouses along the Oregon Coast and have to say, Pelican Bay is truly unique. It is also a private home, like Cleft in the Rock near Yachats, and not open to the public most of the time. The building sits on a high bluff, overlooking Boat Basin Drive in Harbor (as in... More

I liked the fact that it was privately owned, that is so cool! The history was neat, as Bill Cady grew up in Lighthouses so his desire was to build this one. It is the newest Lighthouse on the West Coast.

The views of this lighthouse are okay, but not as spectacular as other lighthouses along the coast (especially Haceta Head lighthouse just north of Florence).

Since this is a private home and we respect their privacy you need to be creative when taking your pictures of the exterior. I was told the owner does open the home a few times a year for fund raisers. I took the customary view from the parking lot below the lighthouse and then went up to the third floor... More
