I wouldn't say you have to stop here, but it's a nice place and convenient to stop after a long drive. We came here because we camped at Jeddiah Smith. We walked a bit and my child had fun throwing rock for almost an hour. The visitor center is big, although we didn't go inside as they were about to... More

Excellent place to stop! Provided a ton of free friendly info, clean restrooms & picnic areas, place to rinse your feet and drinking water for your pup. The beach is also very expansive with a clean river outlet.

Went there to see what there was to do in Brookings and around the area. Was pleasantly surprised to see a lady there to help us. Then walked down to the beach. Too much dry wood on beach area to really enjoy it.

After crossing the California/Oregon border heading North, look for Crissey Field State Park, and the Oregon Welcome Center, on the seaward side of the road. This is a 40 acre park with easy access and great natural features. Bordered on the North part of the park, is the Winchuck River as it meets the sea. This is a no fee... More

We never went into the Visitors' Center. We were more entranced by the wonderful extent of beach in front that allows you to walk from Oregon to California and back. Our dog gives it 4 paws up.

Spent the past weekend in Brookings. Stopped at this place and loved it. Nice info center, bathrooms and easy access to the beach! The attendant who was in charge of the place was very friendly and suggested I also check out Mcvay beach just down the road and gave detailed directions to find it. Crissey field is a great place... Love Crissey Field. Great trail through the trees. Great visitor center also. Lots of pamphlets and info. Lots of great rocks on the beach and a river to check out also. Tons and tons of drift wood!

A great place to watch a river NATURALLY enter the ocean. The assortment of books, maps and guides is excellent. The Ranger staff are fabulous: helpful, knowledgeable, and will to share their time. Good parking. Average, but interesting handicap accessible trails.

The building is great there's a bunch of maps for free of stuff to do! Outside it can be a little tough to climb over the wood. If your pregnant I wouldnt recommend trying to go down to the beach area.

Nice beach easy walk from parking lot. Large visitor center that closes at lunch. Not too welcoming. Clean bathrooms. Lots of steps
