What a wonderful place. The beach is the best along that Brookings corridor. Beautiful driftwood, gorgeous surf. We shall visit it many times over the next several months.

This is a must see park along the 101 HWY. What makes this beach special is the fresh water inlet of the Winchuck River. The artsy look of the sand ripples on the shoreline really made my day. I walked along the water and enjoyed the energy of the pounding waves and ocean breezes. I thought that the structure at... More

This is a simply horrible example to set when entering the beautiful state of Oregon. It is simply an ugly concrete bunker containing free maps, etc. Bypass this monstrosity and continue to Coos Bay and get a real feeling of the State of Oregon.

We really enjoyed our walk on the beach here. It was a windy but sunny day, at low tide, and the tide-pooling was cool too. From where you enter, by the visitor center, down to the rocks by The Nautic Restaurant the distance is about 1.3 miles. There were very few people, just a few joggers and folks with their... More

We stopped to ask for things to do in Brookings and the fellow did not seem to have many suggestions other than the Azalea weekend and the shopping. So, we picked up some brochures and on our own visited the Pelican Bay Lighthouse. We then stumbled on the Azalea park which was terrific and the Harris State Park. The Crissey... More

Waste of a lot of cement (otherwise known as tax dollars) for a natural area that is being put to very little use.

This may be Oregon's best welcome center with clean rest rooms, tons of free materials on all parts of the state and friendly, helpful personnel. As a bonus, it sits on the longest stretch of sandy beach in the area.

Wish it a little easier access to the beach for handicap folks but the state of the art building and interpretive center are an awesome site to learn about.

Great private dog walking. We were there on a week day. There is very good parking. A nice flat short walk to the beach. Also very clean restrooms.

Less than a mile into Oregon on the 101 sits this mod looking welcome center. Who ever had the contract to do the steps, ramps and concrete must have done very well for themselves! It is the best stocked welcome center we have ever seen. Literally hundreds of brochures and pamphlets and flyer available, very impressive. And more impressive was... More
