This is a nice beach for walking and building sand castles. It is a state beach so you are asked not to beach comb for plants, wood or shells and to keep your dog on a leash but no one seemed to pay any attention to the rules. It was still a nice stroll along the waters edge and down... More

On the ocean, great sandy beach! The visitor center is manned (womened) and they are helpful and caring. Stop by and say hi! robb

I like the inlet, it's safe for kids. They had nice and clean bathrooms, but there's nowhere to clean you sandy feet.

You can get all kinds of brochures and information at Crissey Park for both the California and Oregon side. The beach itself is family friendly.

I stopped at the visitor welcome center to pick up the local brochure at about 4:20 pm . I went in to find the centre closed so i walked back to the parking lot. In a span of less than 2 minutes my car's passenger side window was broken & my travel hand bag was stolen. There was no cell... More

Living in Brookings we have several options for long walks on the beach. This is one of the best! Pristine sands, big waves and gorgeous sunsets!

Although it's a considerable walk to the actual beach, it's worth stopping at the information center. Beautiful building and lots of brochures as well as history and artifacts. The people manning this information booth are informed and very helpful.
