Spent the past weekend in Brookings. Stopped at this place and loved it. Nice info center, bathrooms and easy access to the beach! The attendant who was in charge of the place was very friendly and suggested I also check out Mcvay beach just down the road and gave detailed directions to find it. Crissey field is a great place... A great place to watch a river NATURALLY enter the ocean. The assortment of books, maps and guides is excellent. The Ranger staff are fabulous: helpful, knowledgeable, and will to share their time. Good parking. Average, but interesting handicap accessible trails.

The building is great there's a bunch of maps for free of stuff to do! Outside it can be a little tough to climb over the wood. If your pregnant I wouldnt recommend trying to go down to the beach area.

Nice beach easy walk from parking lot. Large visitor center that closes at lunch. Not too welcoming. Clean bathrooms. Lots of steps

This is really a wonderful place to learn about the area and the Oregon coast. Staff is very friendly and helpful. There is a river sanctuary to observe birds. My biggest disappointment is there use to be a trail that went through the trees making a loop back to the parking lot. It was a magical place where you walked... More

This nice little beachfront park was the finale of the Columbia-River-Oregon-Coast-historical tour. The Marylander loved the razor clams; the New Englander was impressed by the rocks and trees, and the Californian loved the wildlife. "Here endeth.."

The visitor center/information center-worthy of 5 stars, but the lack of it being a park that could accommodate overnight camping--well, that wouldn't get a rating at all, since there isn't any.

This is a nice beach for walking and building sand castles. It is a state beach so you are asked not to beach comb for plants, wood or shells and to keep your dog on a leash but no one seemed to pay any attention to the rules. It was still a nice stroll along the waters edge and down... More
