Pilot Butte is a must stop for a drive or a hike while in Bend. Once at the top it gives a beautiful view of Central Oregons beauty and mountains.

This place had some great views of town and central Oregon. I hiked up. I'm not a hiker and it wasn't too bad. You can also just drive to the top.

For a first time visitor a drive up this cinder cone will afford them a view that makes Central Oregon unique. If you are looking for some exercise, walk up instead of driving. The view is worth it.

The walk is a nice little hike and the view once you reach the top shows you all the mountains around you in the distance. I recommend this hike for anyone visiting the area of Bend.

I spent a Saturday evening here with many others, locals and tourists! It was an amazing view of the area all around Bend and worth the extra long visit to watch the sunset! I could have done without the accordion player and young vocalist, however.

Very worthwhile climb to the top -- lots of locals out running, walking, taking the dog out. The views were great, but on the day we went the very top was closed for the 4th of July fireworks setup, so we weren't able to see if they had a map that told you what peaks you were seeing around you.... Rode my bike up to the top from RV park I stayed at. Pretty steep climb if your not a strong cyclist. Lots of walkers getting their workout. Once on top rewarded with a killer view of all of Bend and surrounding area with a center piece showing were various mt. Peaks are located around the area. Just a short... More

Beautiful place to check out a GREAT 360º view of Bend and the surrounding areas. Had it not been for the fires, we would have been able to see further and more mountains. Such as mother nature...You can't always get your way! :)
