Homer is almost two lakes in one. You put in at a small lake, then paddle along a ribbon of water between reeds for most of the length of the lake. If you love birdwatching, be sure to go in spring or the earlier part of summer to see them nesting and the new ducklings swimming. After winding around, you... More

Spectacular views and despite being fairly busy, it was still quiet and pleasant. Nice launch area for canoes, kayaks and paddle boards.

I hate to use hyperbole, but this really is the best lake for paddling in all of Oregon. Nearby Sparks Lake comes in a close second. I used to avoid telling people about Hosmer lake because I didn't want it to become over crowded. Well, that train has long since left the station. Hosmer is dumbbell-shaped with most people entering... More

Homer Lake is the only lake in Oregon with Atlantic Salmon. The fish were planted there from Maine nearly 60 years ago. There is picnicking and hiking around the lake, a chance to catch these majestic fish. However, the Lake has a lot of weed growth, which often makes viewing the fish difficult. It can get hot in summer.

This is one of the lakes in the area. It is nice but it cannot compare with Todd lake or Sparks Lake. Canoeing here is nice, though.

My friends and I took our SUP's out on this lake. Very popular spot for fishing and kayakers. It was so quiet and peaceful. The water was pretty cold, so be prepared for that (in June). So many kinds of birds out there, loved paddling through the channels of the lake and listening to them.

No motor's allowed provides an oppurtunity to enjoy a great lake to canoe, paddle board, or simple float. Loaded with fish and great scenery Hosmer Lake feels like heaven.

Most people probably drive up near Elk Lake to get to Hosmor, but if you like a nice hike through the forest, take the almost hidden trail from Century Drive, past Sparks Lake. It has markers on the trees, high enough to see if the snow is deep. I think it is known best for fishing.

Hosmer Lake is a wonderful lake to float around in a canoe. Easy to traverse the whole lake. Great scenery, too!

I love this lake. Great place to kayak or canoe. The lake is filled with giant Atlantic Salmon. You can only fly fish here and cannot keep the fish. Very clear water. Go early, it can get busy
