Wonderful!!

Hosmer Lake is a wonderful lake to float around in a canoe. Easy to traverse the whole lake. Great scenery, too!

Most people probably drive up near Elk Lake to get to Hosmor, but if you like a nice hike through the forest, take the almost hidden trail from Century Drive, past Sparks Lake. It has markers on the trees, high enough to see if the snow is deep. I think it is known best for fishing.

I love this lake. Great place to kayak or canoe. The lake is filled with giant Atlantic Salmon. You can only fly fish here and cannot keep the fish. Very clear water. Go early, it can get busy

Completely clear water, you can see the bottom no matter where you are on the lake. Views from any direction and it was not crowded. It is not your typical big round lake.... it has small tributaries and fingers to explore. Highly recommend!

There are not motors on Hosmer Lake. It is perfect for paddle boards, canoes, float tubes, and row boats. You can also camp in the campground there.

Good place to take the kayak. Better in the early summer as it can get shallow. Great views of nature. Relaxing. Mt. Bachelor and South Sister in close proximity.

We love to kayak at Hosmer. From the launch site you paddle across some open water and the follow a water path through the reeds. The water is fairly shallow and you can look down and see really big fish? There are fishermen along the way. When the path finally opens up to the main lake it is just gorgeous.... More

Wanting to try a different lake hike, I took the recommendation of a friend and headed up thinking I would have a similar hiking experience to Todd Lake. Sadly, I misunderstood her advice. The banks are very marshy and really no trail to speak of. I will, however, come back with my SUP next time!

A gorgeous lake and not highly used. Excellent for any level of water experience. A peaceful kayak trip with opportunities to view Mt. Bachelor.

We tried kayaking for the first time here and were really happy with the result! I wasn't sure what it was going to be like, but the fact that the water is so calm made it a cinch. The kayak rental prices are reasonable. Caution----on a busy summer day or weekend, arrive early. By the time we returned from our... More
