It looks like a tiny little lake . . . and it is until you explore some of the channels and arms to the lake. The main part of the lake near the boat ramp appears to be dark water due to the bottom. Once you get out into the channels and arms . . .the water is crystal clear... More

hosmer lake is a great non motorized lake, to do in a canoe, kayak, or any other. takes you through a maze of water lilies at first then it opens up out to the lake that has a bottom of white ash so the water looks Caribbean it spots, but man its cold. if you paddle across and head to the... More

Hosmer Lake is a great place to kayak or canoe. It's a beautiful setting and a unique place for an outing. My wife and I go one or two times a season.

This is a wonderful place for a kayak or canoe. No motor craft allowed. Great views of the Cascades. A pristine waterway connects two part of a shallow lake. Perfect for novice boaters. The lakes have large Brook Trout that are far easier to see than to entice with fly rod! You will also find Atlantic Salmon in the lakes!... More

One of the best things about Hosmer is how quiet and undisturbed it can be. It is not far from being a nature preserve. Seen as a place to get away and clear your head. So, if you choose Hosmer as your destination to paddle, respect fisherman by not paddling through their cast zone (15 yards) and smooth paddling. Then... More

Hosmer lake is another of the beautiful Cascade Lakes. We enjoyed a full afternoon kayaking on it & enjoying the forest & mountain scenery. There are no motor boats, so it's very peaceful. You start by going through a reed lined channel that eventually opens up to the main lake. If you go to the far end of the lake,... More

Love this lake. Canoeing through the channels in the reeds and seeing all of the fish is awesome. Got out and wandered around a lava flow area. Beautiful views. Get there early, as the parking lot gets crowded.

We want to come back to kayak. It's a gorgeous and un-busy place to enjoy wildlife and quiet paddling. Saw an immature saw whet owl in a tree within 5 feet of a trail along the lake.
