Such a stunning lake, even with the low water. If you go in the spring, when the water is higher, you can kayak to a waterfall!

This lake is a series of lakes connected by narrower reed lined channels and makes for a beautiful scenic paddle on an SUP or kayak, and there were large numbers of both. The water is clear, the largest lake is the furthest from the launch area and had a white sandy bottom with blue water channels that reminded me of... More

This was our favorite lake for kayaking. Beautiful water, scenery .... Loved it. The parking is close to water with a concrete ramp which is great. Don't forget 5$ for the day use fee, and rangers did write cites for cars that didn't pay.

A beautiful lake...loaded with fish, and surrounded with mountains, Wildlife, birds, and great beauty...it is a very shallow lake, and the campsites around the shoreline are limited...no power boats..... Just a beautiful place to spend a day looking at the beauty of Mother Nature..nestled in the mountains...The fish are fun to watch under your boat as you paddle lazily by....

What a beautiful lake! You can't beat the clear green water of this lake and the mountain views. It is a wonderful lake for kayaks or canoes. The whole Elk Lake loop is lovely but Hosmer is our favorite!

Wonderful place for kayaking. There are two places with entry to the water, and I have found the parking limited on some occasions.

Homer is almost two lakes in one. You put in at a small lake, then paddle along a ribbon of water between reeds for most of the length of the lake. If you love birdwatching, be sure to go in spring or the earlier part of summer to see them nesting and the new ducklings swimming. After winding around, you... More

Spectacular views and despite being fairly busy, it was still quiet and pleasant. Nice launch area for canoes, kayaks and paddle boards.

I hate to use hyperbole, but this really is the best lake for paddling in all of Oregon. Nearby Sparks Lake comes in a close second. I used to avoid telling people about Hosmer lake because I didn't want it to become over crowded. Well, that train has long since left the station. Hosmer is dumbbell-shaped with most people entering... More
