We drove up the mountain with the intention of going to Elk Lake but there were so many people that it really wasn't an option. My sister was here from Iowa and I wanted to give her a close up view of the mountains. We did the little trail at Sparks Lake and had a great view with less crowds.... More

This lake is so convenient. You don't have to travel too far out of bend on the Cascade Lakes Highway. It is just beautiful. It also has a little hiking trail that is not too long of a loop.

We hiked the loop at Sparks Lake last week and all the enthralled reviewers are certainly correct. I firmly believe that this is what heaven looks and feels like. What a great morning we had here!

So, as locals this is one of our favorite places. Great views. Great kayaking and Paddle boarding. Great camping. Great hiking here and nearby. Amazing ohotography. Tips: Go early in summer - the lake's water levels do drop significantly starting in August and into September some places less than a foot deep, watch for exposed rocks Go early in the... More

Went there with several family members for the day and evening. It is so beautiful there and the scenery is worth seeing. Take as many roads off the main road as you can to see as many sights as you can while here Just like in a picture only are there

If you like to canoe and/or kayak, this is the place. Nice small boat launching ramp and plenty of paid (National Forest Pass or day-rate) parking. For hikers, there is a nice and moderate 2.5 circumnavigation trail around the lake. Located about 25 miles from Bend's city center, it is great for day trips and tent/backpack camping. I've kayaked many... More

The 2.5 mile hiking loop around Sparks Lake is well worth the time. The views of Sparks Lake, Three Sisters and Mt. Bachelor are stunning. The lake is clean and used only for kayaks and canoes...no loud noises from the lake from motorboats, which is fantastic for those who long to walk peacefully along the lake.

We LOVE Sparks Lake!! Beautiful views, clean water, and though there are people, it's never too crowded. This is our family's favorite Cascade Lake.

My husband and I live in Bend, so we kayak here frequently. He proposed to me on the lake with South Sister in the background and it was perfect. I've always found the water a bit too chilly for swimming, but exploring the shoreline from a kayak is the perfect way to spend an afternoon. We have yet to haul... More

great for hike and paddle boarding or kayaking. We just were there for an afternoon and went to a few of the Cascade lakes. Wished we were there longer.
