Lots of parking, a nice well maintained hiking trail with geological interest. Great place to kayak. I don't believe they allow motorized craft so, it is very peaceful. Several picnic tables near the parking lot. It is probably crowded summer weekends. Only about 20 miles from Bend

excellent camping, beautiful setting, great hiking in the area. Will return again this summer. Nice walk around the lake great for kids. Scenery is first rate. We did tent camping. There are many other lakes in the area. This one is very accessible.

Amazing views, awesome camping experience! The camping spots are only accessible by water so bring a canoe, kayak or something that floats. The kids loved catching all the frogs!

Although the road to and from the boat ramp was harrowing in the first snowfall, it was one of the most beautiful vistas we have ever enjoyed. I'll upload a photo!

I spent my 38th birthday kayak camping at Sparks Lake. We arrived on Friday morning and were lucky enough to find a camp site. The lake is beautiful, no question about it, but there are way too many day users. The parking lot was packed. I'm surprised the Forest Service doesn't regulate camping here.

One of the most easily accessible beautiful lakes around. Don't miss it. Perfect day trip from Bend, not an isolated area so expect company but is beautiful.

What a heavenly place, luckily we virtually had the place to ourselves which an added bonus. So quiet and serene - would definitely recommend the stop off.

We were driving the Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway when we came upon this gem. The road in is a little dicey but well worth it. So quiet and serene and beautiful. Some cayakers were setting out and I thought it would be wonderful to glide along these waters.

Another of the lakes which we were recommended to go and see by one of the rangers. This lake has lovely shades of blue and green. Again easy to access and stop to picnic or walk one of the trails.

We visited Sparks in early September for some Kayaking. The majority of the lake was quite shallow- approximately 2-3 feet deep. We did find one arm that was perfect though at the SE portion of the lake. We still had a wonderful time and when I go back I plan on going earlier in the summer and hiking around the... More
