So we went here to kayak and ended up having to carry our kayaks most of the time, the water level was unfortunately too low. The lake itself is very pretty- prob better for hiking :)

A great car trip with a number of lakes from Bend, Oregon. Stop by Mt. Batchelor for a ski in the winter and a wonderful sightseeing ride up the lift in the summer. A trip to Sparks Lake is always a wonderful trip through the Cascade Mountains and is worth a few hours of relaxation. With a number of trails... More

This is a great hiking spot just a short drive from Bend. The trails could have better markings but are well kept. The terrain is beautiful.

Always beautiful. Miles of wilderness. You can see this lake in many movies including John Wayne's Rooster Cogburn.

Nice place to go kayaking or camping. Beautiful surroundings. Can get a bit shallow in late summer. Take a picnic and enjoy a great day. Maybe 40 minutes from Bend.

Sparks is a clear lake just a few miles from Bend off Cascade Lakes highway--perfect for kayaking and canoeing. There are no motor boats on the lake, the views are stunning, it is quiet and peaceful, and there are campsites.

This lake is absolutely gorgeous! There are no motor boats allowed, I think you can do small electric motors and then paddle boats and boards. The lava has made inlets that you can go around and through. You can spend a whole day leisurely paddling around the lake, stop for a snack, walk on the beaches, etc. It is not... More
