Park in the Jetty parking lot. From there you have great photo ops of the lighthouse, seagulls, the ocean and the various rock formations. Many times is it quite windy and foggy so hopefully you will visit on a clear and not so breezy day, but even if it is, it is worth stopping. It is a short walk to... More

On this visit the lighthouse was open and visitors could climb to the top. The beach is easily accessible from the parking area.

We have camped in this area several times over the years and finally got a chance to enter and climb to the top. The gentleman volunteer gave us a good historical overview of the lighthouse and the area. A special treat was the opportunity to view two gray whales playing in the harbor entrance. This lighthouse does not function but... More

On a recent "Girls weekend" away, a friend an I visited this park. The light house history is amazing. The beach is WINDY and blustery on most days, so bring a jacket. The beach itself is void of any rock formations-but still pretty. Please be careful of the sneaker waves. Do not allow small children to frolic with out close... More

When the disastrous 1936 Bandon fire leveled the entire town, the only building left standing was the Coquille River Lighthouse or Bandon Light. What a history surrounds this colorful red and white structure! And thanks to the lighthouse volunteers, this story remains alive. When the South Jetty was being built which was to protect the mouth of the Coquille River,... More

Not nearly as scenic as some of the other Oregon lighthouses, but if you have time in Bandon why not make the short drive? You can park right next to it.

The Coquille River Lighthouse is very photogenic, in a lovely, rustic setting. The driftwood, grasses and birds are all interesting. Unfortunately, the climb up into the lighthouse is not for the weak or anyone with a fear of heights or ladders. I made it halfway up the very steep spiral staircase and then had to turn around and inch my... More

Short drive from Bandon. Easy access to the lighthouse. Stop and tour this lighthouse. It has a very colorful history. The top of the lighthouse provides a great view of the area. Walk out onto the jetty and take in the panoramic view and then walk the beach. A great place to spend part of your day.

You can drive almost right to the lighthouse. It does not have the light anymore, but still a picturesque lighthouse. There are hosts that will tell you the history and give you a tour.

Don't miss this one! The beach here has massive piles of driftwood. The lighthouse is a bit worn but is beautiful. You can climb the stairs to the top and get a fab view. The volunteers are excellent guides. The day we were there, it was a husband and wife team (Lis and her husband) who gave all the interesting... More
