The Oklahoma City Museum of Art is, in my opinion, the best attraction in OKC, second only to the Memorial. The permanent collection is relatively small, but has a good variety of art from photography to classic portraiture to modern sculpture. I visited the museum with my 10 and13 year old specifically for the Art Glass permanent exhibition. The multi room exhibit space was well organized. A film of the artist working in the studio with other masters in the medium added a great deal to the experience. Have the kids count how many putti they can find in the overhead... more

I went to the Oklahoma City Art Museum in February 2007. It was such a wonderful experience. The lobby has an enormous glass sculpture by Dale Chihuly, and there is also a large permanent display of his beautiful large glass pieces.
