I was taken to this museum by my relatives while visiting in the area. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the exhibits, and by the museum as a whole. I learned quite a bit about the history of the area that I didn't know, and would have stayed longer if there hadn't been a political fundraiser scheduled for... More

This is a great place to visit. I especially liked the IMAX movie of the cattle drives. If I have family visiting while we are here, I will definitely take them to see this. More

On the front grounds there is the largest bronze sculpture that I have seen. Life size horses, wagon and cattle. A beautiful example of how life was at one time. The 30 minute film was awesome, real effects like feeling the horses running, lightning, and even a mist of rain while you watch it on the screen. More

The Chisholm Trail Heritage Center is a very well organized and informative source on the Chisholm Trail. The exhibits were interesting but not particularly helpful. The audioanimatronic show with the cowboys was great. I especially enjoyed the movie (complete with smells) which recreated a cattle drive. BTW, follow the signs to the trail ruts on the east side of town... More

Well, there isn't much to do in Duncan so this is worth about an hour. The Chisholm Trail has an interesting history and this is a decent small town Musuem. But the $6 entance fee was high and the old lady at the desk was surly. Still, what else to do in Duncan in over 100 degree heat? More

Visited the Chisolm Trail Center last week, September 20th, returning from the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. The Trail Experience was incredible, with the sounds, wind, smells and rain on the trail. The museum is filled with western art, lots of memento's from the cattle drives, and the center grounds are beautiful, with a magnificent sculpture of the cattle drive, together... More

We were fortunate enough to arrive just as several classes of schoolchildren had completed a visit and so we had the entire place to ourselves for most of the time. The staff were an absolute credit to the center. They were warm, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. They took time to show us around and went to great lengths to ensure... More
