This museum entertained my whole family aging from 2 to 50 years of age for 2+ hours. It is a hands on museum about cowboy life. They have a great show that takes you on a cattle drive, you see, feel hear and smell life on the trail. It was a great place.

We had the opportunity to visit the center on 6/8 and were very surprised at the professional job they did with the movies and animation. The movies are very realistic and although I do not want to give away the surprise of feeling so "in the movie", you will love it. The art work is also exceptional and for those... More

The life of a cowboy was not a glamorous one. Sleeping on the ground, eating the same bad food for days on end, hard work all day long. This is what the cowpoke faced to earn only decent pay, driving cattle north into Kansas along the Chisholm Trail. This route ran through the town of Duncan. I drove to the... More

We never expected this tour to be as good as it was. The movie of the trail was so awesome, I have never seen one like this. When they cooked on the film you smelled it, you also smelled the dust storm, felt the cold wind and rain. Felt the rattle of the snake and the stampede. We had a... More

I just loved my visit to the Chisholm Trail Heritage Center. I liked the theater with the robotic cowboys and the movie was excellent, as was the art gallery. The next time I am in the area I would like to visit it again.

There is nothing spectacular about the "attraction." The museum is primitive and doesn't have much to it. There's a theater with robotic cowboys, which is alright but will keep that chant stuck in your head for a while. The statues outside are the best part, which is not really part of the museum. It's a tourist trap.

I was unprepared to find such excellence in a small museum off the beaten path. It did an terrific job in presenting the experience of the cattle drives from Texas, through Indian Territory (Oklahoma), to the rail lines in Kansas. These drives, of course, are of mythic significance in American history. I thoroughly enjoyed the big screen movie which engaged... More

The exhibits are great. Walking the grounds as well as the inside exhibits bring history alive. The video presentations are unforgettable. It is a trip you will be glad you made.

That song still stays in my mind. This was so fun--even for this old grandma. I wished I had taken the kids when they were younger. But even the hands on things were such that us old folks could "play". I actually roped that steer. We went during the week and only one other family was there. The staff had... More

This museum is one of my all-time favourites and I have seen many, many museums! It is located in a small town on the famous Chisholm Trail and from the minute you walk in, you feel like you are right there with the cowpokes. From the bigger-than-life movie of the cattle drive where you actually smell the coffee and feel... More
