We went off season just for the day... It did seem quite commercial. It was an attractive setting, the water was lovely and clear... however I would say with a beautiful natural setting like this it does spoil it when they've added concrete bridges and metal handrails... Next time... build things that are in keeping with the parks natural surroundings. more

As avid Texas Hill Country travelers (at least 3-4 times per year), we were delighted to find a similarly beautiful place with clear cold water and gorgeous scenery just a little over an hour from Denton, Texas. The staff was helpful and friendly and the bathrooms were clean. We saw nothing but a couple of cigarette butts over the entire... more

While Turner Falls may have been "the place to go" before the city of Davis took it over, it stinks now. First, it's overpriced. Look to shell out over $20 for camping (that's in winter). What you'll pay for is a genuine tourist trap filled with garbage, ropes, concrete stairs to no-where, no climbing, no this, no that, etc. There... more

After reading previous comments, my family and I were a bit skeptical about camping in the park, however, upon our arrival we were pleasantly surprised. We arrived on a Thursday and were able to locate a very secluded, picturesque camp site right on the Honey Creek - complete with falls, a swiming hole and a rope swing. Although we did... more

I first went to Turner Falls over 50 years ago and I really loved it. My familly went there this weekend and spent about two hours there just to see it is really going down hill. It was dirty and over crowded. It will be a long time before I go back there again. I understand that the state is... more

Having grown up in Oklahoma, Turner Falls was a really neat place to go. Not anymore. Nasty, dirty, and not well maintained. We were there only an hour and couldn't stand it. Left and went to the Chickasaw National Recreational Park in Sulphur. What a shame to let this glorious place go down. Even the falls was roped off and you... more

I am orininally from South Afrika but have lived in Texas for the past five years. I have seen much of Texas and found it so clean and beautiful. I decided to go north to Oklahoma's Turner Falls to spend the weekend and see the sights. When my family and I arrived at Turner Falls we were greeted with a... more

I wish we had seen the previous reviews before we made the day trip to Turner Falls, if so, we definitely would not have gone. When we arrived we were surprised at how run down the entrance seemed to be. We drove up to the window and paid $16 plus tax. The man at the window was extremely rude and... more

OVER-RATED!! OVER-RATED!! OVER-RATED!! My family and I agree with the May 2004 reviewer comments about Turner Falls Park. The only difference is whereas that reviewer drove in the park, up the hill, down the hill, and then out of the park, we WASTED an hour and a half inside! It is not maintained, AT ALL! We went into a castle... more

We thought about a little day trip to somewhere that is not too far. I did some research over the Internet and came across Turner Fall. The picture of the fall looks interesting. I am a sucker for natural scenic landscape, so we decided to go for a 2-hour drive to Turner Fall. Pros: The natural swimming pool formation was... more
