The Historic Tour begins at the site of discovery and includes the part that was originally explored from 1897 to 1925. The Natural Wonder Tour takes guests on a 1 mile walk through parts discovered after 1925. It includes the largest stalactite in Ohio, The Crystal King, along with many other marvelous formations and colors. Only one tour is offered from November through March. It is a hybrid tour, showing guests highlights from both the Natural Wonder and Historic tours. « less

For about the same price ($12 vs. $15) as the "regular" tour, my wife was excited to be able to try one of these cavern tours. They claimed the tour would be about 25 minutes. I would estimate that this time includes about 10 minutes walking down to the cavern and discussing the history and local farms AND the 5... More

This is a privately owned cavern. The grounds are exceptionally well manicured & lovely, with rolling green lawns, flowers, large trees, picnic tables & shelters, & a mediocre playground. The drive there is quintessential beautiful Ohio countryside, with enormous, lush swaths of green farmland, horses, cows, and pretty barns. The view from anywhere in the park is really pretty. Distant... More

I decided to do a day with my 7 year old daughter for a day to do some sightseeing. I've lived in Columbus for over 6 years and had no idea that Ohio Caverns was just 45 minutes away. It was an easy drive from Columbus, and although I'd seen the photos, I had no real idea what to expect.... More

More than 50 years ago, my parents brought me here as a young child. I wondered if I had an exaggerated memory of the beautiful white stalagmites and stalactites in the cavern. I am happy to say that it is just as wondrous as I recalled. My cousin and I took both the Historic tour and the Natural Wonders tour,... More

First time in a cavern. The property is privately owned and very well-maintained. The drive form the East (coming from Columbus) is comfortable and picturesque. Beautiful country roads on US-33. We just did the natural wonder tour (not the historical one). Its about 45 minutes through the caverns. Can't touch anything on the way (which I think is very appropriate... More

Although we live in Bellefontaine, we often forget about the amazing things we can do as a family just a few miles away! We visited the caverns on 7-29 and had a great time! Awesome guides and they made the tour fun and had lots of great information. Seeing the awesome colors and formations never gets old! Thank you to... More

Our tour guide Ally was amazing. She had fun with our group and still got the facts and interesting points across. I would recommend her for any tour you go on at the Caverns.

This cave is the best I've seen in Ohio and I've been to most of them in the state that are open to the public (Crystal, Perry, Seneca, and Zane Shawnee). My husband and I did the Historical and the Natural Wonders tour but I would advise visitors to just do the Natural Wonders tour if they are budget and... More

Thank you for your kind words and constructive review. We are glad that you visited! Sorry about the ladies restroom being not up to expectations. It is difficult on the busiest of days to keep up with this, but we will strive to do a better job in this area. The Natural Wonder tour is our most popular, but many... More

We took our two sons, age 10 and 8, to tour the caverns on the Natural Wonder tour. The formations inside the cave were beautiful! This is a great introduction to cave exploration. The tour is under an hour, and the trail is smooth and flat, with the exception of the stairs to exit the cave at the end. It... More

Thank you for the nice review of our Natural Wonder Tour and park. Only a very few guests have issues with claustrophobia while on tour. One of our staff members can get anyone out of the cavern in only a few minutes, if needed. If someone experiences this early in the tour route, we will gladly refund the price of... More

Very cool and interesting. Went with friends from the area but would be a great trip for the family. Highly recommend.

Thank you for your stellar review! We want to remind everyone that the cavern is "cool" in the summer and "warm" in the winter. It is a unique environment that stays 54*F (12.2* C) all year. More
