You will forget you're in the city when you visit the lush gardens. There is an 1800's cabin on the premeses, and also a shoppe with arts and crafts and nature items for sale. This plase also hosts several festivals throughout the year with special activities. More

Nice place to take out of town guests - stroll through flower beds, large and small ponds, shady area, homestead cabin with old fashioned & heirloom plants & veggies. Garden is large so be prepared to walk to view all the flower beds. Often have art shows and sell specimans during the year. Ample parking except during festivals. More

Yes, it's free admission and well-worth a visit. The daylily and hosta collections are nationally renowned, and much of the maintenance of those is done through the efforts of volunteers. The herb garden is sensational in season, and includes a wonderful wall full of espalied apple trees. It's just a short trip from US23. More

A nature lovers dream. Quiet and peaceful. Bring a picnic and a camera. Bathroom facilities available and sufficient but a bit outdated. More

The annual art show is a great event. The main problem with the Botanical Garden is that the geese make is difficult to enjoy. There is goose poop everywhere. More

Went to an outdoor concert here last fall - part of a annual jazz series. The jazz group was amazing, but the setting was even more amazing. Every person brought his own chair or blanket and gathered around a grassy area with the shade garden as the backdrop to listen to sweet sounds rising to the tops of the trees.... More
