Where I reside allows me to check out SE Michigan as well as NW Ohio. Having been to the Detroit zoological park, we decided to go check out the Toledo zoo. Although slightly smaller, the zoo has plenty to offer. The polar exhibit and the eagles were among our favorites. Loved the dining area inside one of the old exhibits.... More

Overall this is a nice Zoo. It is a bit small and dated in some areas, but kept clean and orderly. You do have to drive through a run down area of town to get there but isnt too bad. Parking was easy and close. You can get through pretty much everything in a day (as opposed to some larger... More

The Toledo Zoo is a first class zoo with many innovative exhibits. There is so much to see and do. A hands-on Children's area, fantastic elephant viewing area, polar bear and Africa areas will delight young and old. The zoo's 1930's architecture has been maintained yet renovated into a modern facilities. Most unique is the Carnivore Café which originally housed... More

The zoo took a very long time to get through as there was a lot of construction and no clear mapping as to how to avoid or get around it. The actual animal habitats were much better sized than that of other zoos but some of their new exhibits were disappointing. Their Penguin beach for instance was very small and... More

Spacious place to visit, just when I thought I was finished with the park, I keep finding another section to explore. Now this is March in the 30s, so a lot of the exhibit and animals weren't present, despite that, I spent over 3 hours learning and exploring animals from Flamingos to Orangutans to White Rhinos, plenty of indoor spaces... We went with 3 kids. Very nice place to see all animals well organized in different locations. Kids enjoyed the Polar Bear, Penguins and the apes. Good collection.

The zoo is pretty standard it seems, Cleveland or San Diego is larger and the habitats are nicer, but Toledo is fun too. They are working to improve the habitats so it will be interesting to see where they go with it. Overall it is worth a visit.

There will be new things to experience in the Spring, and we are looking forward to the renovations and new exhibits. We go several times a year, and it is a good place to enjoy with family and friends.

Always a good time! The winter is our favorite time to go to see all the lights. We don't miss a year, it is perfect for family time!
