Fun family day; crazy hayride

We went with our three year old son and enjoyed a lovely, pumpkin filled day. The hayride was unusual; a fast, twisty, hilly jaunt through the forest. My husband didn't like it. He works with tractors and he was terrified about safety. I don't know about tractor safety, so I thought it was really fun. Our little boy laughed the... More

I had the misfortune of riding an out of control hayride that could have seriously injured or killed a group of preschoolers. This was my first and last experience at Windmill Farms. Our group of 30 or so adults and about 35 kids aged 5 and under took the hayride to the pumpkins. We made our way through very rough... More

While visiting this farm with a preschool group our hayride lost control and ran off the trail taking some small trees with it. Once we resumed on the last hill the tractor stalled and slid backward downhill before jack knifing and being stopped by a tree. It is a miracle no one was ejected and we did not flip. Lots... More

A really fun time but very pricey so have your wallet in your hand! On the weekends the hayride is $11.95 for even 1 year olds, $8.95 if you don't want a pumpkin. I see people complaining about how bumpy the ride is but many of us LOVE that part of it. It is really fun, but hang onto your... More

This place is wonderful if you arent afraid to get dirty. The animals are adorable and always a favorite with the little kids. They have plenty of fun things for kids to play on and the farmers market is awesome! The hay ride is very bumpy, I suggest sitting in the middle. You WILL get muddy, there is no avoiding... More

I have been in car accidents less violent than this hayride. To make matters worse, you are pulled through waist high muck and stagnant water, so there is no way to get off and trudge back with small children. I was literally tossed with my 1 year old several inches off of the wagon repeatedly, then slammed back down, and... More

I have been to Windmill Farm Market three times. The hayride is fun, but as others have mentioned it is very bumpy. I would suggest not taking a child until he/she is 2 or older, make sure you hold on to the kids! The animals are cool, the kids loved them. It was a little pricey, but what isn't now... More

There were no disclaimers about the hayride. It was very bumpy and SHOULD NOT be riden by ppl with back pains, women who are pregnant, or small children. I was fearful my child would come off of the ride with shaken baby syndrome. Awful.

Windmill Farm Market is south on SR48 near the east west junction of SR 48. Windmill Farm Market is not a destination for us, but rather a pleasant diversion in an area with several farm markets. The sales staff seems young and enthusiastic. The baked items are priced right; the in season produce and flowers always provide a lift. We... More
