A National monument worth visiting while on Put-In-Bay

Nice view but basic. Worth a one-time visit while on Put-In-Bay. Occasional events (Rifle demos, historical story tellers, etc.)

Very nice; the line was a bit long to go up but it wasn't that big of a deal to wait. Gorgeous views. The ticket is good for the entire week.

My friends and I went to Put in Bay for the day. Our first stop was the peace memorial. It is located in an awesome area of the island. Make sure you walk around the memorial for a look at the sight in the back before you leave. It is awesome and you will find a few benches and grassy... More

Really enjoyed the view from the top of the tower although only a couple of the park rangers were willing to talk your arm off...as promised by the one in the elevator. Great maps in each corner of the observation deck so you can get your bearings. Did not visit the new building, which sounded like probably a good thing... More

We were lucky enough to be here on a perfectly clear day, so the views were phenomenal. Some of our group went mid-afternoon and encountered lines, but my husband and I went 45 minutes before it closed and had no lines. It was one of my favorite parts of the trip!

Cheap smooth ride to the top of the memorial. The views are amazing and the staff are great. They tell you about the history of the memorial on the way up and have staff available up top to answer questions.

We enjoyed the visit but did not go to the top of the monument. It looked like fun, but we do not like heights.

The park employees all seem to enjoy their jobs here. Our group interacted with several rangers with questions and received the answers. "There are several plaques in the rotunda portion of the lower level. I believe you must walk about 30 some odd steps just to reach the level for elevator access. Once at the top it really is a... One cannot miss this memorial as it stands tall and visible from everywhere. It's a great place to start your island trip! The queue for observation tower was huge 25-30 min wait line, so we skipped but realized we missed the main part as I heard the views were amazing! The park crew were awesome, dressed up as 1812 soldiers,... More
