We enjoyed listening to the reenactment and going to the top of the memorial! You may not want to do this if you are afraid of heights.

My husband and I rode our bikes on the island, did alittle wine touring and made afew stops in shops and a cave and this memorial. The memorial is impressive to see out on the lawn. And inside there is a lot of information about the war that was fought with pictures and a mini scaled down "war seen" It... More

First off, yes, there is an elevator. Its a bit small so you may have to wait. The view is very impressive. If you are military, you can visit for free! Make sure you wave to Canada!

While the views from the top of the memorial are excellent in all directions over the flat Lake Erie Island landscape from 317ft (97m) above, do not miss the opportunity to see the visitor center which does a excellent job of telling the story of Oliver Hazard Perry’s decisive victory over the British in the Battle of Lake Erie during... I think I read somewhere that this is the highest observation tower on any monument in America? I could be wrong but either way it's a great view Put in Bay is great I highly suggest just taking it all in while you're there

We went to the Perry's Victory & International Peace Memorial. We got as far as the lawn in front and found that it is closed for rennovations. I guess it will be open next summer.

Wish it was open so we could get closer. They had it all gated off. Nice watching the guys fire their muskets!

Even if you don't love history, you will love to walk around outside and relax in the fresh air. The gift shop was fun to investigate and we found several gifts for the Grandkids. We found the history fascinating. Even WE turned out to be history buffs.

We traveled to Put-In-Bay specifically to visit the memorial. The visitor center is small but very well done and very informative. The views from the monument were spectacular. There is a small fee ($3) for going to the top via elevator. We visited while they were having a history weekend so there were people dressed up and doing various demonstrations... More
