My boys and I made it to the monument right before it closed so our wait was minimal. While we waited for the elevator, we spent our time reading the names and other information on the walls inside the monument. Our guard wasn't much into providing information, but the information on the plaques on the observation deck was good enough.... More

I live on Kelleys Island in the summer and the monument is a must-do when I venture over to Put-in-Bay. The rangers are very nice and informative. If you go with someone over 62 with a National Parks senior pass your entire party is free.

I have been to Perry's Monument several times. It's only $3 to go up, and it's a beautiful view of the islands and Lake Erie. The guy that took us in the elevator seemed less than thrilled to be working and didn't really provide any history of the monument.

From the top of the memorial you can see all the islands. It's beautiful! I learned so much that I didn't know about the battle on Lake Erie.

The memorial consists of a museum and the memorial itself. The museum is small but nice. The movie about the site is informative. At the memorial, there are a few stairs to climb before you get to the elevator. The elevator itself is an attraction as it is quite old. The view from the top is nice. You can see... More

So much history here. Small kids will have a hard time viewing over the wall at the top but they do allow you to pick up your kid as long as you're a step away from the edge. The view is gorgeous from the top.
