We were visiting the Cleveland area & decided to visit the Cuyahoga Valley Nat'l Park one day. The vintage train car was an added bonus. Def check out the website for more info: cvsr.com Just a few tips tho: take the trip earlier in the day as the train does stop @ a few stations that you can get off,... More

Bike along the towpath trail and when you get tired, hop the train back to your car for just $3! The weekend we were there, they were also running a historic steam engine on an excursion which was spectacular to see.

I started at the Boston Mills station and biked down almost 9 miles along the towpath trail to the Botzum station. This is fabulous if you have the legs for it. Flat terrain that winds through forest along old canal locks, beside the river, through farmland, and into a beaver marsh. Information markers all along the way. Took the train... More

I quite enjoyed the trip on the train we had. Definately take the audio tour, we only did one way and regretted not taking it the first half. I expected a bit more scenic, but other than that had a nice time. Even the hot dogs were good.

Attended the 2014 Steam In The Valley event. Love, love, loved it. Even if you are not a train person you will enjoy this piece of history. What is so sad is that not many steam trains are still running, so this is an organization that I happily donate to to keep this expensive but hands on pieces of history... More

We tool the National Park Scenic tour which lasted a little under 2 hours. We went through Cuyahoga Valley and was able to see some birds and animals. After the train ride, definitely purchased a Cuyahoga t-shirt.

Two weekends in September each year The Cuyahoga Scenic Railroad pulls the two hour excursion train with a steam locomotive. For the second year it was the Nickle Plate 765 from Fort Wayne Historical Society. Tickets start at $26 for coach and can be purchased online or at the station. The trains are clean and are air conditioned. Food for... More

We got on at Peninsula Station. We rode the train to Akron and back up to the end and back to Peninsula Station. The scenery was alright. We especially enjoyed the volunteer conductors and their knowledge. The auditory unit that was provided a great deal of knowledge about the local history. The whole trip was a bit over three hours.... More
