My husband and I took the Ales on Rails scenic train ride last August when we moved to Ohio and loved it so much we went again taking a visiting family member. The volunteers make you feel so welcomed. The beer is plentiful and the food is filling. I will continue to take out of town guests on this one... More

Train runs parallel to the bike trails and if you get tired, you can take the train back to any other station for 3 dollars! Staff was very helpful!!

Our daughter bought tickets for our 38th wedding anniversary for the CVSR. We decided to use them for the 3 hour train ride that included breakfast. We were very pleased with the trip. The service was great and the food was delicious. As our train rolled along we were served our 3 course brunch. It was very enjoyable as we... More

Took this trip for a second time last week. Great for families with children-my boys loved the trip! Would upgrade to first class if you have the extra cash on hand-the seats are more comfortable, the windows much larger and there is much more leg room. We caught the train out of Arkon, and next time would also see about... More

We rode in first class on Wednesday, July 2 the conductors were friendly, helpful, and told us stories. It was a great ride. It was my son's favorite activity. The scene was beautiful and relaxing. An awesome way to spend the day.

This railroad trip reminded me of a railroad trip I took as a Boy Scout in 1960 from Houston to Colorado Springs. The train cars are from that era. It is a really relaxing ride.

My friend Grant and I enjoy the sounds of steam locomotives, and every September, the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad offers steam powered train trips with visiting steam locomotives. In 2013, we rode behind Nickel Plate 765 between Akron and Boston Mills. The train consisted of the Budd cars owned by Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad and 2 1920's coaches that were... More

My family, including guests from Phoenix, AZ, rode the CVSR on a rainy Sunday in June. What a perfect way to elude those rain drops! The scenery was beautiful, the Canal Visitor Center was interesting. We had perfect timing to view the exhibits and catch the train as it returned south bound. For being in a metropolitan area one sure... More

After reading some of the reviews of this train I was regretting having paid for tickets. People are such whiners. We did pay the higher price for the Lone Star car which has tables for 2 or 4 with nice large windows at all but a few tables. The train was clean, the volunteers wonderful. We enjoyed someone pointing out... More

Do not pass by any opportunity to "try the Train"... there are many different choices to enjoy this great train in our National Forest. Check out www.cvsr.com and choose something. The train is operated by volunteers of the CVSR. The brunch is one of my favorite ways to enjoy the train with my wife. There is something for everyone. Do... More
