This attraction honors the bygone days of train travel. You should do this for yourself if you have never been on a train or for you children/grandchildren. Some observations: 1. This is life in the slow lane. Unplug and enjoy. 2. We got on in Rockside with our family and rode the loop back to Pennisula. We left on the... More

We went with our church group (34 of us 50+ers) and had a great day. Enjoyed the scenic ride and the stops at Peninsula and since there were that many of us on that Saturday trip they made a special stop at a Farmers' Market and picked us up on their way back north. We saw many people bringing their... More

I have always LOVED riding the train. If you’re in a hurry, the train is probably the last mode of transportation you would want because the only thing slower than the train would be walking or riding your bike – the bus is faster, a car, and of course a plane, the fastest, however train travel is extremely relaxing, and... What a treat. My suggestion is pay the extra $3 or so per person if you can and enjoy first class. Lots of comfy room, free snacks and recorded history lessons and tidbits about the area you travel through. Trip from Rockside station to Akron and back takes about 3 hours is relaxing and beautiful.

we spent the extra money to ride in the dome car. It was a great view (of the rain). The thing we didn't like was you sat with 4 people in a very crowded area. Your knees were literally touching the knees of the person across from you. Would have been fine if we had a group of 4, but... More

My wife and I brought our mountain bikes with us on our adventure from Florida to Green Bay and back. One of the places we had planned to bike along the way was the tow path trail in Cuyahoga National Park. We decided to catch the trail at the Peninsula Station. We missed any signage that pointed out where the... More

I have taken this scenic railroad for evening of wine tasting. Tickets obtained on-line. There are different seating options for different prices. I have sat in the "dome" car which is visually very nice, you can see out the side window and hen out of the dome on the ceiling. However, this section is difficult to sit and have a... More

Beautiful, relaxing train ride through the length CVNP on a restored train. Recommend purchasing the train's dome car- the views are worth the few extra dollars. The ride was about 3 hours in length. You could get off at any of the stops and get back on a later train. You could even ride your own bike or rent a... More

Its awesome to actually ride a train, not just look at one. This would be a great way for children to see nature without having to hike etc... You are close to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland (20 minutes) and the NFL Football Hall of Fame in Canton (1 hour).
